I love this! So much more effective than a small sign on the side of the road. (Now, if only all bus drivers passed cyclists safely!!)

Hmmm, Lance Armstrong, why am I not surprised?
My LBS owner, who has met Lance, has been a huge supporter, choosing to trust and believe in Lance... until today. Now they are hurt & in shock, while I have spent the last year biting my tongue. I used to be in awe of him, until I read his book. What an ass! The Livestrong website also seems to have lost it's original focus and seems to be mostly aimed at athletes and 'diet-ers'. I am also disgusted by the homeopathic disinformation available on their website as if it is a legitimate form of treatment. I've heard numbers thrown out there on how much Livestrong has raised for cancer. So, just in case you missed it: Livestrong does not spend one cent on cancer research to help find a cure for cancer. This charity is solely for helping people with cancer (heck, how about people without cancer) live a healthy lifestyle. In other words, it's a health & fitness BUSINESS that uses buzz words like cancer and charity to become the biggest and the best. I urge everyone to donate to charities that actually do research, treatment and care such as the American Cancer Society, Canadian Cancer Society or the BC Cancer Agency.
In order to ride throughout the winter I need a waterproof jacket. I have done some research looking for the right jacket but most of them are water resistant, not waterproof. That is not good enough for a heavy rain. I have a jacket now that is windproof and water...
In my experience, pretty much NOTHING is waterproof. Everything has seams & zippers which leak. You have to go pretty high end to stay dry. I prefer clothing that keeps me warm enough, even when wet.
This is EXACTLY the strategy I employ, esp. at Halloween and Christmas!!
Squats??
I'm doing a 30 day squat-athon, (whaaaaat!!) which totally slipped my mind the last 2 days. It's now 2:22am & time for bed, but I'm now faced with 65 squats to complete before retiring for the night. I think I'm supposed to do them all at once, or it would be too easy. The chart has me doing 100 by Christmas Day (if I remember to do them!!)Ā
Join my for my Holiday Squat-athon! Reblog and comment if youāre going to join me for the next 30 days to get your ass in shape for Christmas!
Would love to be able to do something like this - or lunges, or burpees, stuff like that - but I seriously donāt think my poor old knees would hold up.Ā I made just a few days of C25K, canāt seem to progress past walking on the treadmill & using the ellipticalā¦Ā for now.
I'm in!
Today marks a year since I was told, āYou have a large mass in your chest, first weāre concerned it could be Lymphoma.ā Itās amazing the difference a year can make. I finally dragged myself to the doctor after 6 weeks of not feeling well. What started as a dry cough that wouldnāt go away developedā¦
Congratulations!Ā
And thisā¦is how we increase bicycling and walking. Portland does this already. Lots of dead end streets with cut outs for bicyclists and pedestrians so that itās faster and easier to ride somewhere than it is to drive your car there. People usually choose the fastest or shortest way to their destination, so this solution is really helping to keep their community focused on moving people not cars.Ā
i could make out with this photo.
lol, in my city, the far right graphic is our bus routes!!
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what you get when you stand up to a man who beats his young girlfriend in public. Not the black eye, not the broken nose, but the sense of being a fucking great human being.
Earlier today while I was waiting for the bus I witnessed a man walk up to his girlfriend, who couldnāt have been older than 18, kick her handbag, spit on her and scream in her face that she was a cunt. He walked back into the bus shelter after telling her she was worthless and pathetic and kicking her in the gut then as she tried to follow he turned around to grab her. I got in between them and toldĀ him that he should never EVER spit on a woman, hit her or talk to her in that way. He laughed in my face and said he would āfuck me upā. I looked him square in the eye and told him that I was not afraid of him. He proceeded to scream obscenities at her as I took her away from him, then he shouted to me that he could walk round the corner to get people to kill me. Feeling defiant, I said āgo on, I dare you, thereāre plenty of people around to witness it.ā The prick then walked right up to me and head butted me in the nose. I am now sporting a swollen face and the beginnings of a black eye but the police took swabs from my nose to get his DNA and they know exactly who he is. Cuntās going down for assault. Motherfuckers donāt treat women like that and get away with it. I feel heroic.Thatās right bitches. Women deserve respect.Ā
she is a FUCKING ROCK STAR!!!!!! (excuse my French)
or sleeping in the same room as THREE bikes!!
Parking Wars
Driving home at 2am I calculated that I drive 360km a year just in the parkade at work!!
Donāt Compare Your Beginning to Someone Elseās Middle
okay, but at some point I want to catch up!!
Sharrow
Sadly, i hate sharrows. It's a city's cheap way of taking a narrow unsuitable, unsafe street and saying "see? we have bike lanes". Um, no. No, you don't.

This is what happens when drunk people design roads
Well that sucks! This is my town :(
