He definitely won't understand when they first tell him but all he knows is he loves his S/O so even if he doesn’t understand all the way he won't hesitate to do whatever they need him to do to feel comfortable.

Once they do finally come out to him he will try his best to comfort them and will let them know in his own awkward way how much he loves them.

Soldier:

Also won't understand but wont even hesitate to shout out their support, he's surprisingly really good at adjusting any pronouns if their S/O requests him to.

As long as you still identify as an american then he's perfectly fine with whatever his S/O identifies as tbh.

Pyro:

To be honest I do headcanon Pyro as genderfluid as well so they are the quickest to understand when their S/O comes out to them and they aren’t afraid to sweep their S/O into a big ol bear hug to show their support.

If their S/O ever feels self conscious or dysphoric in any way shape or form they aren’t afraid to either hold their hand or pull them into another bone crushing hug to try and squeeze those negative feelings out.

Heavy:

He prides himself on being in tune with his loved ones and their needs so once his S/O starts acting distant he notices immediately but he wants to give his S/O a chance to talk to him about whatever is wrong when they feel comfortable so he won't confront them right away.

Once they finally do come out to him he's quick to let them know how much he cares for them and will hold their hand as they explain how they feel.

Medic:

He may not notice any changes in his S/Os behavior right away since this man is a certified workaholic but once he finally gets his head out of his work he is quick to notice something is wrong and won't hesitate to ask, he won't push it though if his S/O still doesn’t feel comfortable to tell him.

Once he finally understands how his S/O is feeling he would like to sit down and talk about it, that way he can get a better understanding on how they are feeling.

Demo:

On the rare occasion that he’s sober he's actually observant but he's very laid back about it and won't confront them until they are ready to talk.

Once he is finally told about how they are feeling he takes the time to sit and listen to what their S/O would prefer identity wise and he quickly adapts depending on how they are feeling that day, he may slip up here and there but he is always quick to correct himself.

Engineer:

It’s no surprise that this man is another workaholic but he definitely notices how they are acting faster than Medic would, he wouldn’t want to force them into telling him anything before they were ready, so he just makes sure to drop subtle hints that he loves and supports them no matter what.

Once they finally trust him enough to tell him he quickly does as much research as he can, he doesn’t want to admit it but he is nervous about messing anything up.

Sniper:

Being a sniper he notices subtle changes in people so once his partner starts getting distant he kinda freaks out but doesn’t say anything in hopes that they will talk to him once they are ready.

It’s no surprise he's not great with words so he can't really articulate how he feels when they come out to him but once he is finished processing everything he will gently take their hand and hold it and maybe even hug them if he feels like that wasn’t enough to show them how he feels about them.

Spy:

Being a spy it's a given that he notices right away when someone acts differently especially if that someone is a person that they care about deeply. He may actually find out what’s bothering his S/O rather fast but he's willing to wait until they are ready to tell him.

He won't let his partner know that he already knew once they do come out to him, instead preferring to compliment and shower his lover in praise and affection.

It may have taken some explaining about how you feel in social situations but once he understands he will be more than happy to talk for you and deflect any attention off of you if you start feeling overwhelmed.

Scout:

No Surprise to anyone this man loves baseball you can often find him watching it or talking about it, if his S/O ever asks him if they can play he gets so excited he can barely contain himself.

He has a stash of comic books in his room that he likes to read during his days off, his S/O always knows when he gets to an exciting part or if he finds a new comic that interests him because he won't be afraid to find them and excitedly explain everything.

Sometimes this boy still has some energy that he hasn’t burned through so he can't sleep some night. If his S/O is still up he loves to roll over and just talk about whatever is on his mind at that moment until they both finally fall asleep.

Soldier:

Soldier is always ready for battle even on ceasefire days and he wants his S/O to be ready even if they don’t participate in any fighting. It's better to be prepared just in case, so training with his S/O kinda becomes his daily routine.

The second most important person in his life after his S/O is Lieutenant Bites, no matter how feral the raccoon acts towards him he loves to just be able to spend time with the little guy, he tries to convince his S/O to spend some time with Bites but for some reason his S/O always passes on it, oh well.

Pyro:

Pyro is a person of few words but they are a wonderful listener and after a hard day they love to just relax and listen to their lovely S/O talk about their day. Even if their day wasn't the best, just having this little routine makes it all better.

Sometimes during their daily battles they find little trinkets and items they think their S/O would absolutely love, sometimes it's actually really nice items such as a pretty rock that's the same color as their eyes; or a really nice hat they thought would look amazing on them. But other times it's something a little grotesque that kinda got lost in translation in their Pyro vision, it's a mystery what they bring but that kinda adds to the excitement of being their S/O.

Medic:

This man doesn’t get a lot of free time but when he does he loves to just take a moment and relax by spending time with Archimedes, once his S/O has become properly bonded with the bird his favorite pastime quickly becomes spending time with both of them.

Usually when he's in between projects he loves to get his S/O’s opinion on matters even if they may not know much on the matter he loves being able to get an insight in how his S/O feels on whatever their topic may be.

Heavy:

He is an amazing cook and finds it to be a very calming experience that lets him relax and clear his head of any worries that he may have had that day, so it means the world to him when his S/O shows interest in wanting to join him. Even if his S/O isn’t a good cook he still will give them smaller tasks such as peeling potatoes or chopping vegetables. All that matters to him is the quality time he's getting with his loved one.

During his days off when all his other tasks are done he loves to sit back and read a nice book, a lot of it is in Russian so if his S/O can't understand it but is curious about it he won't be afraid to read it out loud to them.

Engineer:

Whenever he finally pulls himself away from his projects he loves to go outside with his guitar and get some fresh air, maybe even play a few songs to pass the time before his self appointed break ends. If his S/O happens to walk by while he's out there he doesn’t hesitate to invite them to sit with him, he may even ask for any song requests.

This man loves to find ways to show he appreciates his S/O, his favorite way is to plan a nice date at home where he gets to cook them dinner of their choice. It just warms his heart seeing how much his S/O enjoys his food.

Demo:

No surprise to anyone, his favorite date spot is bars. He tries not to drink as much as he usually would but he still does get pretty hammered, he's a true lover boy when he's drunk constantly leaning against you and just muttering about how much you mean to him the whole time. Don’t worry he usually takes you on an actual date the next day after he recovers from his hangover.

At night his favorite sleeping position is similar to that of a koala. He is a huge snuggler and just knowing his S/O is nearby helps lull him to sleep within minutes.

Sniper:

Whenever he gets the chance during his days off he loves to just pack up his van and go on a camping trip away from all of the stress. It’s extremely relaxing for him to just camp out in the desert with nobody to take care of besides his S/O and him.

It’s no surprise he tries to talk to his parents as often as he can no matter how much they dislike his profession he still does love them and he has expressed to his S/O how much he actually wants them to meet his parents one of these days.

Spy:

Spy is huge on big romantic gestures and it’s no surprise he loves to dance so sometimes after a long day he would want nothing more than to slow dance with his S/O. If they ever confessed to him that they actually don’t know how to dance then he will be more than happy to teach them.

Being a spy he is insanely good at picking up on little details and storing them away for later use and he mainly uses that skill when outside of work to remember any gifts that his partner would want. Be it a passing glance at some clothes they saw on display or a wishful sigh when looking at the latest tech he remembers and always makes sure to go back and buy it for them.

He's still trying to fully grasp English so sometimes when you speak in your native tongue it can kinda get lost in translation, he may stop and ask what certain words mean but don’t worry once he asks a question he’ll try not to repeat it just be patient with him he's trying his best.

He's not someone who does well with PDA of any kind so don’t expect a huge reaction if you try flirting in public, but in private you never fail to make him smile hell sometimes you even manage to make him blush.

How he handles your flirty nature depends on if he's sober or not to be honest. If sober he always laughs and flirts back and he's pretty good at being suave himself when in this state, but when he's drunk, his flirting kinda downgrades to a jumbled version of his sober flirting with a lot more “I love you”s thrown in there.

Now I don’t see him as someone with high self esteem so everytime you call him all those cute nicknames he just feels so loved like even with all of his self perceived down sides you still aren’t afraid to act so loving towards him.

Sniper:

Now he's a man that doesn’t go looking for a lot of affection so flirting is a little new to him and he’s a little awkward about it and at times he can probably rival scout when it comes to who can blush the fastest but he’ll be damned if he lets you do all the teasing so even if it’s a little awkward at first once he gets more comfortable he actually gets decent at flirting with his S/O.

I wish to get better at writing so I wanted to set up an imagine/head cannon blog for the fandom Tf2 and maybe when I get more comfortable I’ll open it up to more fandoms.

By default I will keep S/O gender neutral but if you want them a specific gender just let me know and for matchups just let me know if there is any characters you don’t want to be matched up with so I don’t use them.
