before the year ends i'd like to share some funky pages from my sketchbook (that started off strong but then slowly fell off) this year. Hope to finish at least 3/4 next year (it is big tho, like a B4?? )
I've used quite quite a range of supplies tbh lmaooo
from drawing with pencils, to ballpens, markers, colored pencils, watercolor, gouache, fountain pens. Tbh i'd love to try oil painting but i don't have any more space 😭 i've also! started journaling and planning this month lmfaoooo hobonichi ftw
Speaking of, i have, sadly gone into the rabbit hole of fountain pens...there's so many pretty ones and the inks??? brah my wallet
sum limited palette painting studies
can science explain the reason why i cant even bring myself to pick up this mf eraser on the ground, i literally just need to bend down and get it but nah...ill do everything but pick this up. ill get up, make a sandwich, get water, but picking up that eraser is too much work, ill do it later
when r you coming backk??
coming back from where 🤣
so

Hello 😇👋,
Our family is facing incredibly difficult times due to the ongoing war in Gaza 💔. Our dreams and future have been shattered, leaving us feeling lost and without purpose. Anas and Ahmad have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help them escape Gaza, continue their education, and support our family.
Making a small donation or sharing the campaign would mean the world to us.

Thank you so much for your kindness and support 💖
With gratitude,

Quick little video tutorial! This is a method I use to block in shapes when I’m fighting the urge to polish my lineart at an early stage, especially in rough concept art that doesn’t actually need polished lineart.
I group two layers in photoshop—a rough sketch, and a flat color—and then carve out the negative space by painting into a mask on the group, instead of filling in the positive shapes. From there I can start painting and adding shading into that group, knowing that I’ve already locked down a good initial silhouette for the object/character:
It feels like oil painting, and I end up finding silhouettes/shapes in a way I wouldn’t if I was obsessively cleaning up the linework first. Digital art has a tendency to veer towards cleanliness/polish, so I love finding little opportunities for happy accidents and a bit of mess!
I used it on my unicorn piece last month, for instance, which I think would have lost a lot of its dynamism and charm if I had worried too much about doing a full ink pass:
Hope this is at all helpful! It’s not a method I use 100% of the time, but it really helps move my process along when I do need it 👍🏼
to those who were asking abt my twt acc, just lyk that im in bsky under the same username as here (cynicallyneutral) so...yep

There is a lot of good left.” End caption.]
hey thats me :)
Honestly it boils down to reparenting yourself & rewiring your own neuronal pathways & telling yourself a firm “stop” when you notice your mind slipping down negative loopholes & being present in the moment & enjoying being mid task rather than waiting for it to end & not thinking of inertia as your baseline and natural way of living
So tempting to keep embarking on the same self destructive cycle over & over & over again . But at some point you have to put ur foot down w ur own behaviors & be the thing that truly saves u
#this is unfortunately true#it’s not easy to tell yourself Hey Drop It#like you’re your own dog furtively eating pinecones and rocks#but you gotta#sometimes it’s a Hey We’re Not Doing That#you gotta though
any other artist out there feeling like they're fundamentally uncreative. not in a sense of being unable to make art, but in the sense that the results of your artistic labour are predictable, stagnant, a dime a dozen. like the creativity flowing through the artists you admire is a bone in their body that you were born without.
sometimes i think abt how i’d haunt ppl when i turn to a ghost…maybe you’ll hear me cry over how much i want to draw even in the afterlife, or i’ll cry abt my yaois
bad news! i have no idea what im doing. good news! i will continue nonetheless.
