whatās with taking off one month and then playing catch up the next PLUS bringing the extra spicy cramps?
just shed your lining on schedule, cāmon!
usually, Iām (mostly) okay with horror films; will just avoid the screen and audio during more gruesome scenes
I draw the line at SA; Over Your Dead Body is a hard pass
attempted rape is a joke to these assholes

Tower Hill of one of my most favorite places in MA. I also love that NEBG is very pet friendly. We added Benji to our membership and bring him to sniff around the many trails. He LOVES when we bring him along! š¾
have developed a stupid infection in an incision, and have been doing the oral antibiotics + fever/swelling meds + watching drawn borders + monitoring for scary symptoms I hope to have preempted routine ever since. seeing red lines streak up your foot is scaaaary.
once upon a time, my son, at his peak of collegiate athlete health, developed septic bursitis and began to exhibit symptoms of sepsis (significant altered mental status, anyone?) in the hours before his urgently needed surgery to clean out his elbow. thankfully, he had been admitted to the med-surg floor for IV therapies overnight and was being closely monitored when this occurred. all from scraping his elbow whilst skateboarding.
luck isnāt generally in our favor for injuries not going a bit+ sideways.
really hoping I defy our odds this time.
Drug arrives years after pandemicās peak, but could still offer protection to vulnerable populations.
An antiviral pill has, for the first time, been shown to prevent COVID-19 in people exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus at home, according to trial results published today in theĀ New England Journal of Medicine1. The drug could be a lifeline for those who still face real danger from the virus, such as care-home residents or transplant recipients on immune-suppressing medication.
There are good things happening in the world.
Thereās something clever to be said about the cruelty of your third and final flight of the day being delayed after about 20 hours of flights behind you, but Iām just too tired to noodle on it.
Guess whose bag didnāt make the final connection? š«
At least the MSP baggage office found it, and stuck it on the first flight of today. BOS will deliver it to me. I really appreciate the BOS baggage office crew working to find my suitcase at 1am this morning. Will send in a letter of thanks as soon my bag is delivered.
to anyone in the areas impacted by the wildfire smoke, my #1 biggest piece of advice as someone whos been dealing with wildfire smoke in the NW united states for years, is build yourself a Corsi-Rosenthal Cube
they perform as well as expensive HEPA air cleaners, and are comparatively VERY inexpensive. all you need is a box fan, 4 air filters, a piece of cardboard, and some duct tape!!!!
i think it took us maybe a half hour to put ours together, if that, and we replace the filters every 3 months. it's really made a HUGE difference, both when the air quality is bad, but also with our allergies
Saw these easy to read instructions on Twitter. Stay safe š
Great time to start pricing this out by the way, fire season starts⦠on the summer solstice this year, thatās fun. Signs point to it being a doozy.

After a mad search for my compression socks, I gave up and picked up two new pair. Dog print & these with the polka dots. If Iāve gotta wear them the next 25 hours, Iām going with the prints that make me happy.
Having turned 45 last month, Iāve had to admit my skin texture, tone, etc. have all changed, and my makeup supplies were no longer right for me ā neither the products, nor colors Iāve long used.
And so, early this morning, I arranged to have a makeup consult at Ulta today. My MUA Janet was probably my Aunt Janetās age (and also just as much a firecracker). I figured, correctly as it turns out, I was in good hands. Donāt get me wrong! The much younger MUAs were certainly capable and all had very lovely looks, but Janet has lived and worked with her skinās maturing. Bonus! She was just so gracious with my hesitations and neuroticism.
I finally just let Janet do her thing, and I left feeling lighter and brighter. New colors for me, for sure. Iām talking a dark purple eyeliner, a terracotta eyeshadow, a pinkish peach blush? For someone who usually goes barefaced as applying makeup devolved to chore status, Iām unexpectedly pleased with the results. And feel excited about using the new techniques and supplies. I also feel this new makeup allows me to properly reflect my age versus being aged by my makeup. I told Janet just that and she BEAMED! We exchanged hugs before I made my purchases and promises Iāll return in the Fall for a seasonal color refresh.
All in all, this was an A+ impulse decision.
Vanity snap with weird shadows giving me hilarious raccoon eyes after the jump.
Havenāt restocked the liquor cabinet for summer cocktails yet, but the sunās emergence today had me wanting to play with what was left from last summer.
Following Jack Driverās instructions here, I made the Amaro Nonino version of a Negroni. A+ substitution.
you can post on tumblr even when you're trying to take a break from social media it literally doesn't count. it's like pepsi max, or pescatarianism
