One of my favorite moments during the Mario movie (slight spoilers btw) is when Mario and DK seemed like they were about to have a heart to heart
DK’s all like “my dad thinks I’m a joke” and Mario’s like “yeah mine too” and I was like oh ok I see where this is going they’re going to bond over their daddy issues but
NOPE
DK is just like “your dad’s right you DO suck”
I lost my mind, what a good subversion 10/10 no notes
Some of the few surviving screenshots of an early version of Donkey Kong 64 where the Kongs had realistic weapons made out of steel, rather than the finished game’s wooden weapons that shoot fruit. According to the game’s creative director, George Andreas, the change was entirely due to Shigeru Miyamoto being shocked at the realistic gun designs; in fact, he designed the Coconut Gun himself to offer as an alternative, and the finished game’s various weapons are based around Miyamoto’s vision.

when I say “everyone’s on their own timeline”, I mean it.
there’s no right age to learn something by. there’s no right age to be settled down, to move out of home, or to start your own family. there’s no right age to start working, if you work at all. there’s no right age to graduate.
life isn’t a series of boxes you need to tick. do things at your own pace. slow down if you need to. it’s okay.
Interesting detail: modern BoTW-era Gerudo have pointy Hylian ears from years of intermingling, but Ganondorf is so old he still has round ears

I will say it's kinda hilarious that Nintendo went "you know the most annoying characters from the original game? the ones that 90% of the fans hated so much that it became a whole meme?? the ones where the reward for finding all nine hundred of them is just a pile of shit??? yeah in the sequel let's make it so the players can glue them to rockets and bombs"
i feel like so many people misunderstand redemption arcs. they’re not about forgiving past actions. they’re not about softening previous behavior. redemption arcs are about realizing past behavior was heinous and resolving to be better, do better. that’s why so many redemption arcs fall apart upon close scrutiny.

"I never wish to be easily defined. I'd rather float over other people's minds as something strictly fluid and non-perceivable; more like a transparent, paradoxically iridescent creature rather than an actual person."
