Apparently people have been adopting dogs and either killing them themselves or dropping them to a kill shelter (and one even said they were flying them to poor Asian areas to be eaten) under the Twitter hashtag #pitbulldropoff

This is completely cruel and evil and word needs to get around about these demons so everyone knows what these demons are planning to do to dogs once they get ahold of them.

Every single breed of dog has the potential to kill. Every. Single. One. I have encountered far more violent dalmatians, chowchows, chihuahuas, and others compared to pitbulls. You are disgusting if you think the reported pitbull attacks can justify killing off an entire breed you vile excuse for a human being. 

I am a veterinary science major who has studied many breeds and their behaviors and other traits. You don’t think labs have killed kids? That goldens haven’t? Pitbull attacks are the ones that are showed to media the most, while other instances of breeds attacking is kept on the downlow because of the appearances and stigmas around the breed. The main reasons for pitbull attacks? Their owners. Either they were abused or were not kept inside. Many attacks by dogs are also energetic excited pooches wanting to play but not knowing their strength (it’s how my doberman has left me scratched up).

 I have been attacked by chow mixes, labs, collies, etc, but never a pitbull. I have a pit and she has only ever saved my life MULTIPLE times. You can’t justify the murder of an entire breed.

Killing a breed won’t save kids, responsible dog owners will.

Pitbulls are super sweet dogs! You can’t make a claim to a certain breed because of how people think they are. If you raise a dog correctly, they shouldn’t be violent. And any species of dog has the potential to kill.

I own a pit bull (well, terrier) and he’s the sweetest thing known to man. Any dog has the capacity to be violent— that’s why we train them. Dogs are sweet by nature. They’re bred that way. They just get excited and they aren’t really aware of how to keep their big ol’ paws to themselves. They don’t mean to hurt us or other people, but they’re animals just like us, and will respond when provoked.

If you treat a dog violently they’ll be violent, simple as that. It always astounds me that people don’t notice the connection between babies and dogs— just like you have to teach babies not to bite when they’re frustrated, you have to teach dogs not to bite when excited. So treat a dog like you’d treat a baby and teach them.

Anyway, pit bulls aren’t violent. They’re sweet little goofballs who want a belly rub. If you’re going to give your dog up for adoption, send them to no kill organizations, a trusted friend, or well known youtubers who rehabilitate pets. (This is a stretch, I know, but it’s better than handing them off to a stranger.)

Do not give your dog to PETA.

They will kill your dog. They hate pitbulls and euthanize 90% of animals in their care.

That’s all I have to say about the matter. Pitties are sweet little peanut-heads. Wouldn’t hurt a fly.

Would you consider Huey autistic? I can totally see it: his tendency to apply logic to everything, especially what he doesn't understand, his devotion to the Junior Woodchucks, his desire for everything to be in a certain order that makes sense to him. It absolutely works

Actually, yes, I can see that! He’s actually strikingly similar to a friend of mine with Asperger Syndrome, so I have no problem at all with believing that Huey might be autistic. 

It would also put an interesting spin on his apparent behavioral problems? He reflects Donald’s anger issues, but where Donald just seems to have focused, hyper-intense reactions, Huey seems to be triggered but then not know where to channel his own reaction. 

I’m not any kind of expert on this, mind you. But it is an interesting discussion, and it’s always nice to see representations of things like this in media, whether they are intentional or not (If people can relate to it, then such a head canon is valid:) )

Am I the only one who like…doesn’t really think Della will show up/actually doesn’t want her to? At least, I think that if she has any kind of appearance in the show, it’ll be in the form of a flashback, maybe when we finally get the story of what happened. But I honestly doubt they’ll bring her back. That would change decades of Duck family dynamic, and that would be very, very hard to pull off well.

That’s honestly what I’m hoping as well. Partially because too often, stories of mending and healing from grief are “fixed” by writers as if it’s an easy process and not one that takes years and messy tangles to sort out.

The episodes haven’t given off the vibe that they’re going to ignore that, if Della should return, the grief of ten years will take time to heal. Look at Donald’s shell-shocked expression when Liu Hai boots him out of the casino. Look at his unreadable side-glance at his uncle when they later board the Sunchaser. Scrooge’s actions left a mark on him and it’ll become important later, just like Webby trapping Ma Beagle made her want to capture the kid.

And as @ask-the-hatbox-ghost said, Della would be just one more inhabitant of the Manor. The show won’t have her take the boys away from Donald, I just can’t imagine it.

But all that speculation and wishing is mute, because the ultimate fate of Della isn’t in our, the fans, hands. It’s in the show’s authors’, etc. hands.

I’m not saying they can’t do it, I’m just questioning whether they should. Including Della in the show, beyond the mystery surrounding her disappearance, would take attention away from the characters that are already there. She’s got such a huge mythology built up around her, it would be hard to just slide her in as a character. For me, it isn’t a question of possibility, but one of good writing. And you know what, if they can somehow pull it off without entirely screwing over the other characters, that’s great, I can’t wait to see. 

And of course it’s out of our hands. I understand that this is all moot, but everyone is speculating. I am allowed to speculate, just like I’m allowed to worry about what the rest of this show might bring.

@d-d-d-ducky @worldbeyondtheworld I’ve been just thinking about this today… I’m not sure about this. As much I’d love to see Della interact with the triplets… but on the other hand… will the Ducktales crew really change years of “duck family dynamic” with bringing Della back?

I actually think there can be three outcomes:

Della doesn’t return at all

Della does return, but she has to go again

Della returns, and stays, but I suppose this would happen in the very end of the series

I guess… let’s just wait and see.

Right though? I mean, all we can do is wait. But I’m still firm in my belief that bringing her back would be a bad idea, purely from a writer’s standpoint. Not only will it change said family dynamic, but then they’ll probably all but turn the show into “The Della Duck Show” and the other characters will fall by the wayside. No thanks. I care about Don and the boys more than I will ever care about their absent mother, no matter how important her story turns out to be. 

Full disclosure: I don’t like Della. None of the comics or fan theories have changed that. So, you know...I’m a little biased in my opinion. (a lot)

When did I create my blog: Shortly after the pilot episode of DT aired. I’ve been a lifelong fan of Donald Duck and when the show turned out to be so well done, I couldn’t help myself.

What Do I Post: On this blog, I post things about ducks. Honestly most of it is about Donald, because I don’t do much to disguise my favoritism, but I also like angst and things that make my feelings hurt, so that goes here as well (as it pertains to this fandom)

Do I Have Any Other Blogs: I have dumb-flower-bridge, which is dedicated to Pixar’s Coco—mostly Héctor, tbh—and my main blog hoistthecolors-watchmesoar, which is less of me posting things and more just all of my feed from all of my fandoms, which I intend to sort into my other blogs. I have been wanting to start up some new blogs for a while though, including a goth blog (I am goth, even though you wouldn’t know it from my current blogs), a paranormal blog, and a mythology blog. The most pressing one though, it that I’d love to start a blog based on discussing characters and fan theories from Supernatural. Mainly, Gabriel, because he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. …Yeah, that’s going up very soon. The thing is, all these other blogs that I want are just like, emotionally and mentally difficult for me to set up. Disney and Pixar are much easier for me to deal with.

To huey, dewey, and louie: if you could meet your mom for ten minutes, what would you talk about?

M-Mom? As in, mom mom? I don’t even know! There’s so many things I want to ask her about her adventures! Why did she like flying so much? What made her decide to be an adventurer? Was she a Junior Woodchuck too? The possibilities are endless!

I guess… I’d just like to know why, you’know? Ten minutes isn’t enough time to get to know her or anything, but it’s enough time to explain why she left us with Uncle Donald and disappeared.

Ugh, this again. Why does everyone and their grandma wanna know how we feel about mom, anyway?
