First day of oral today

So for the first time I will be the one marking the students on their English orals for their high school diploma… Have to admit… I feel a bit scared! Don’t want to do it…

Hate it when i kindly say to my students “if you don’t understand something, ask me, that’s why I’m here” and one pupil replies “I don’t understand anything Miss.”

Come on, there’s always something you can understand!!!!

Today I spent 10 minutes trying to calm down a (very talkative) student afraid of a (big) spider. That was a prolific lesson... Student: "Miss it's coming near me!!!!"

Disappearances

Yesterday my students had to go in front of the class to do their speech inspired by MLK’s speech “I have a dream”.  Two students magically disappeared between their French class and mine. I wonder if these two facts are linked....Nah! They love my classes too much!

Sometimes I wonder how old my students think I am, they are so surprised to see I know and do stuff they do too.

Me: “Okay class, today we will study a documentary on Netflix called “Supersize Me”

Students: “You have netflix?!!! Are you watching Orange Is the New Black? Or other TV shows?!!!”

I never answered that question but boy if they only knew....
