I am going to put a stop to this.

What is being done is fearmongering.

I do not know who truly started this, but this time of defamation and slander is not at all acceptable, especially not in this fandom.

I am getting requests from people all over to join my Discord server, all fine and well, I assume they want to scope it out for themselves or report it for being 'harmful.'

My server is home to 278 members, all from my Instagram following, Twitter, or Tumblr.

Nothing of what occurs there is harmful and it is no different a server from Markiplier's.

There are many people in it, some artists you may know, and various fans of Mark, or even Jack.

While I have indeed claimed the 'soul business' is no game or rp, I did this for my own sake. I am someone you might consider to be a kinnie of sorts; in other words, I answer to no other name (in the online realm) than Dark.

The soul thing was not started by me and I have never requested that anyone refer to me as 'dad,' especially given that there are only three individuals who do this and they are adamant about being the only ones who do because that bond is special to them.

What I am is someone who is passionate about the content I create and post. Someone who uses such things to cope and does not nor have I ever put anyone in danger whilst doing so.

I am not running a 'cult,' and while some of the behaviour you might have observed, to you, could be considered 'cult-like,' those who know what I do, those who know me, those who interact with me, know that I am merely someone who takes this role very seriously and that is why you are frightened.

And despite how much it stings, I am willing to put aside that guise right now for the sake of your worry, my own mental health, and the safety of my server and all within it.

I am not running a cult. I am a passionate content creator, an individual with poor mental health--who uses this particular character to cope and has been for the last two years, and I am only here to share my creations with you.

I put aside the "Wilted." I deleted the posts not to hide anything, but to do away with it so that something percieved as harmful would not taint my blog or hurt anyone any further. I am not going to be accepting any more souls from here on out, roleplay or not, because of this event.

All I ask is that in the future, you truly take the time to look into an issue like this without making harsh accusations, because as I have said before, I am a person behind a screen, much like you, a person with anxiety, fears, and compassion.

I am not making any threats, I am not claiming anything will happen because of this, but this is the type of scenario that can end lives when tossed around without forethought.

The messages I have recieved have been desperate and concerning attempts to access my server, and the anon asks I and some of my associates have/had been recieving are not at all acceptable, even if you may believe that the person you are messaging is, in fact, someone doing something bad.

This situation is not ok. This fearmongering is not ok.

This in itself is just as harmful as whatever it is you believe I am doing, and it needs to stop.

A lot of us have been talking, some of the minors in my server are utterly terrified that they or I am in danger because of this issue.

I will be changing things around on both my server and blog. I will make sure my followers know what they should and shouldn't be saying and I will be clarifying that this is roleplay, even /if/ I personally identify a particular way, which unfortunately led to be the crux of this issue.

I have not yet had time to speak to my server about this, given the messages I have been receiving, but I will post an update once I have.

Please remember again how serious this type of accusation is. I have once before seen a Darkiplier blog be accused of running a cult server and I have been very aware of that issue ever since.

I will apologise for my own negligence and lack of understanding towards this issue, as well to those who have been triggered because of it starting.

I ask that anyone involved is respectful and does not respond out of aggression or fear. I understand; these are human reactions, but it is not the way to go about things. If you cannot respond with civility, then do not engage at all.

Here’s what I have so far. I am currently extremely overwhelmed with messages and information to sort through, but I’ll be updating the folder as more things come up.

I am sharing what I know so you may make an informed opinion as I have and this can be used as evidence. This is not a call-out post, but if you want to make one, go ahead.

As a reminder, even if this is a cult, cults are unfortunately NOT illegal in the United States and are protected under the First Amendment. As Discord is based in the US, I am not sure how much can be done in that regard, as nothing they have done is illegal.

I've gotten into contact with both @darkipli3r and one of the people on the server. The screenshots I got and looked into were taken a bit out of context. Both Darkipli3r and the person on thr server I talked to are going to talk to the rest of the people on the server about it. Even if it wasnt a cult there were some unhealthy behaviours going on there. I thank the member who got in contact with me, and I hope the best for the fandom and everyone on the server.

Maybe I was wrong about the context of the one reblog, I'll give you that. But you know the thing is i have been doing my research. I've seen screenshots from your server where kids are talking about selling their soul to you. I read a post by a kid that sounded like a testimonial from my old cult.

If you're not going to delete the discord you need to pin a message to the very front page stating that it's a role play, none of it's real ect, or break character for once and make it clear in the server that you arent a god, arent actually Darkiplier, and calm some of this stuff down.

As someone who is not only also a survivor of a cult, but studies them extensively and knows what makes a cult a cult, I would suggest you stop jumping down his throat and actually study what you're talking about.

There's this little thing called the BITE model, created by Steven Hassan, an actual cult expert. It's used by other actual religion/cult experts to judge if something is a cult or not. If you look at it, as I have before and I just did, you'll see that his group in no way would qualify as a cult.

If you want to jump down the throat of every single individual that has people (including or not including minors) offering to "sell them their souls", then I have a long list of every celebrity on the planet for you to start on first, before harassing this person.

I'm not part of his group. Hell, I just found his blog around a week and a half ago. But I have read the majority of his posts, including his interactions with the Wilted, I have seen how the whole "soul-selling" thing works, and I have compared it against actual professional cult-defining sources. You're jumping to conclusions based on incomplete information and fear responses. Stop.

I had seen some screenshots taken out of a bigger context that lead me to believe that it was a cult, or at the very least an unhealthy attachment. It seems to have been the latter. I was hasty and let my own trauma cloud my judgement.

I stand by my statements that things should be changed on the server, and a mod has gotten in touch with me about it. They"re going to discuss the way the server is handling things and hopefully it will be a more healthy place in the future.
