What if I fail ? CAO related 30\11\15
This week we learnt about “How to apply for CAO “central of application office this is an important part or should I say phase of our academic year, is the point where we decide the courses that we want and what we want for our career.
Making this choice isn’t easy because those choices will affect our lifes, but to give us some support and to manage the colleges and grades that we get we have the CAO, they help you with choosing the right place for you according to your requirements.
Now if you don’t meet the requirements to get into a level 7 or 8 don’t panic because is not the end of the world, you have access foundation programmes in some colleges and that helps a lot with making your dream come true, about going to college.
I say “don’t panic” because at one stage in my life I thought I was done and wouldn’t be able to get into college because I didn’t get any offer from the CAO but guess what I had an interview in DIT for a chance in the access foundation programme, got accepted and now I am trying my best to keep up with the new college life.

Dealing with Conflicts 23/11/15
What we learned this week was that for every conflict there is a solution, people seem to find ways or excuses to either ignore the conflict, avoid,or make it look like it never happened. There are 3 ways of solving a conflict.
First one is called management, second resolution, third is transformation, everyone always think of conflict as something negative like,a fight, argument, something that separates people, but my main focus on this special blog is to present to You reader a new way of thinking about conflict.
Think of it as an opportunity to change the way things were before the conflict, maybe find out the reason or the root of the problem and use the conflict as a transformation and a better way of living your life,3 outcomes can be brought by the conflict you can have a winner and a loser, loser and a loser ,winner and a winner.
But no one ever think about the both sides winning, with a peace treatment for everyone at the end.
Managing the conflict wont help, because it will start again.
Resolution method still doesn’t always end up with a winner-winner outcome.
Transformation will always end up with winners on both side and it will change the situation to better than it was before.

Locus of Control 16/11/15
According to Julian B. Rotter a sociologist who came up with 13 questions that can tell if your “locus of control” is internal or external, what I mean by this is if we are controlled by our own opinions or by what people have to say about us.
In this weeks lecture we learnt that 3 words {equality-access of participation-outcome} can tell us a lot about people or what they will become, its pretty complex but literally you are judging someone from the area which they live in and thats the external locus of control in action ,which means that the society and there daily life control them.
But then the internal locus of control comes in play because depending on their social life and how they live they can decide if they want to change there future or not, I`ll give a simple example, imagine there is a 16 year old boy and he comes from a rough area like violence and murder,he can either decide to live by the gun and become a criminal or choose to study, find the resources to change his future and become someone in life and have a career.
I did a test which is called “locus of control test “ and I got the result that I am an intermediate when it comes to be controlled either by the society or myself here is a link if you want to try it yourself [https://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newCDV_90.htm ]

Different types of Personality 9/11/15
😌Dealing with people can be fun and good for experience, social life and developing new friendship chains, from this week lecture I learnt that each and individual person has a personality and no matter what group you or me get into, the group will never be the same. This happens because each of us have a different type of personality here is a link that can help you find out what is yours 😏 (http://discpersonalitytesting.com/free-disc-test/).
There are four types of personality –Dominance Influencial Steady Compliant- hence the abbreviation “DISC”
Dominant😑 people are active task-oriented,they want everything done and dusted, kind of bossy type
Influencial😋 people are active people-oriented,they are persuasive, impulsive and emotional, the type of people that can make you do what they want (if you are not careful)
Steady😀 people are passive people-oriented,they are friendly, sympathetic, like helping and care about others
Compliant😱 people are passive task-oriented,they are the ones that like to correct everything that is not a mistake or observed by the others, think very analytically and systematically and make decisions carefully with plenty of research and information to back it up.
In my researches and results from the test I found out that I am a bit of Dominant and Steady, much more steady than dominant
You have a blend of both Supportive and Dominant traits. Your Supportive traits are probably a little stronger than your Dominant traits. Some words that describe you are:
· Helpful,
· Kind,
· Focused, and
· Methodical.

Theories of intelligence -My point of view
In my last lecture we spoke about the theory of intelligence, and the creator of this theory is Howard Gardner, this theory basically explains to us various types of intelligence and where we are at
I can’t say someone is stupid because there maths is not good as mine, that’s one type of intelligence that wasn’t developed ,in my case I am good with Spatial/Visual and Body/Kinesthetic,I researched the types of jobs available to that and I got “mechanic”,”engineering”,which matches what I am aiming for as a career (mechanical engineering).
Some types of intelligence
1. Verbal/Linguistic : love and got talent with words
2. Logic/Mathematical: attracted to logic,numbers and reasoning
3. Musical: appreciate rhythm and composition
4. Spatial/visual: able to picture shapes in the mind without seeing them
5. Body/Kinesthetic: enjoy sports and/or dance. They are good at building things and like to stay active
6. Intrapersonal: adept at looking inward and figuring out their own feelings
7. Interpersonal: good with people and thrive in social interactions
8. Naturalist: good with nature
9. Exitential: highly introspective and attuned to their inner selves.
It’s good to know that intelligence is not limited, with that said I will go develop some of mine skills.
