“well, is it working?” she tilts her head curiously. “and i come from WINTERFELL –– have you heard of it?”
“jesus, give me a moment and let me check.” darlene answered, kneeling down to see the television better. she couldn’t believe there was an actual tv and dvds in that place. she had never been a big fan of television, but right now, anything was good. as she started working on the tv, the other girl spoke. darlene shook her head, “nah, where is it? somewhere north?”
“do you even know how to work this?”
“of course i know how to make it work. who do you think i am? and most important, where do you come from?”
“This… isn’t London…”
“How clever.”
“Wait, someone proposed to you ? Like marriage ?? Why’d you say no ?”
“Yeah. Can you believe it? What a douche. Well, he proposed so he clearly didn’t know me well.”
“—I guess it doesn’t matter how right now.” Bonnie dismissed the question. It was not worth dwelling on. “Maybe not, but there are WORSE people roaming around here.I don’t have a phone though. Sorry about that.”
Darlene didn’t say anything when the girl didn’t give her an answer. It happened the same with her when Klaus asked her how she could help him so she wasn’t really upset. She nodded and sighed heavily, “Yeah, I heard something. What the fuck is going on, though?” She asked, wondering if maybe during the week she was gone, things collapsed even more and all the work she’d done with the fsociety fucked up the whole nation.
“ you need to be more careful. ” barbara advised, jogging some to catch up with the woman. she was more alert than ever, bright eyes darting every which way; this time they’d been thrown into, a future much more brutal than she could have dared hope, was not unlike much of gotham during it’s worst moments. babs could handle that just fine; it was others she was worried about. “ don’t you know what’s going on?? ”
Darlene rolled her eyes when the girl spoke to her, “I’m always careful.” She said before shrugging, “What is going on?” She asked, “Other than me being back in New York after being in a shithole of a town for a week?”
“ didn’cha know, didn’cha know miss? tonight is P U R G E night! ” they said with glee, before finally removing their hands behind their back; by doing so, revealing the knife behind their back, rocking back and forth on their feet. “ so i don’t think walking home is the best thing to do, you know? ”
Darlene furrowed her brow as they spoke, “Purge night? What the––” She asked before her eyes widened at the sight of their knife. “What the fuck?” She asked, taking a step back. Oh, great –– this is exactly what I needed today, she thought, swallowing hard the lump in her throat. “Look, I don’t want any problem, alright? I’ll just fucking leave.”
chara never really had an appreciation for HUMANITY, let alone the world past the barrier. but they were an A N G E L of death. if that meant up here too, so be it. crimson eyes glowers at the seen that had taken place in front of them, knife in hand, but behind their back. “ don’t you think it’s a little… late to be out? ” red eyes glow with mirth and bemusement, and if the knife were in the light, it would probably glint.
Darlene heard a voice and turned her head. “It’s never too late to be out.” She answered, “Besides, when they brought me back in New York, they didn’t give me my phone or my metrocard back so I have to walk home, even if it’s late.”
“GOD. What a pig. The more men I see like that, the more I want to stay single.”
“Thank you. And then people got surprised when I said no when the guy I was seeing proposed to me. Men? They’re stupid..”
“You know, if any guys bother you again, I can just make them disappear.” Bonnie was bluffing at this point; after all she had never gotten her powers back. But she wanted to help the woman walking down the street. She wasn’t about to just not leave the offer on the table. “You might want to get somewhere safer soon.”
Darlene raised an eyebrow when a girl spoke to her. “Disappear? How, exactly?” She asked curiously before shrugged, “Why should I? That guy isn’t gonna bother me anymore. I’d be happy to get anywhere else, though – I have stuff to do and I just need one fucking phone. You don’t have one with you, do you?”
When Darlene noticed the familiar buildings around her, she couldn’t believe it. That wasn’t Antta, nor was it some shitty town. It was New fucking York. She had no idea how she got back in the Big Apple or when, but she was so extremely glad she was in NYC. She had stuff to finish but first, she needed to find a phone – hers seemed to be gone ( but this was no news, she hadn’t seen her smartphone since her arrive in Antta ) , and she needed one to contact Mobley or Trenton ( or shit, even Cisco ) and to pay for a taxi. When she noticed a car pulling over, she rolled her eyes. It was a middle aged man. “ If you want hookers, you might wanna try a couple of blocks away. There’s nothing here for you. ” She said and the man drove away. Shaking her head, Darlene walked away, hoping no one else would bother her. She had no time for shit. Little did she know, she wouldn't be able to do anything she had in mind. The city had something else planned for her.
“Fine, why can’t you complete the task here?”
“ ‘Cause this place is shit and has nothing that can help me accomplish my task.”
“I think Hell is fitting, only way it could fit better is if everything was on fire.”
“True, but that would be much worse. I mean, this place already sucks, we don’t need fire everywhere.”
“Deserted towns are so spooky, there’s no one here! Are we sure this place is not haunted?”
“Instead of spooky, I’d say boring and awful.”

“What is this place?” She had barely taken two steps before she took her eyes off the ground. Glancing at the ruins, she immediately wrapped her arms around herself, terrified.
“Hell, Antta, shithole –– whichever you prefer.” Darlene answered with a shrug,
“And how, pray, can you help me if we weren’t in this place?”
“How is not important just know that I would be able to do it. Or I’d try, at least.”
Completely surprised to hear someone speaking to him, Edward spun around wide eyed, “Wh—?” he realized he must have spoken out loud before without meaning to, and this woman had overheard him, “Oh I’m sorry, I’m just a little overwhelmed. I was trying to clear my head, I didn’t mean to bother you. To be honest, I didn’t even realize I had spoken out loud. ”
Darlene shrugged, not exactly bothered by the guy. “And you clear your head with riddles?” She asked, raising an eyebrow. “To each their own, I guess.” She immediately added, “You didn’t bother me, no worries.”
