“The Truth”
Nothing has ever mattered more than this.
This littlest moment, alone, is the covenant of my life and everything that follows. Life will one day lead me back to this fleeting time; the way the faint glow of my lamp touched my pale skin, and the way I let my own thoughts tear my sanity apart.
In this seemingly insignificant moment, I was candid, nude, unsuspecting.
But I was myself.
support my writing blog, y’all!! i would really, really appreciate it if you guys would like/reblog! <3
You would not believe your eyes,

“Good Morning”
On this very day, I realized something. But to help you, I will begin with an uncanny story that you, yourself, might recognize.
Today, I woke up later than the usual. I hesitantly get up from my bed, which is unusually comfier when I’m about to get up, and cross paths with my mom. She smiles a wide one and greets me a jolly good morning. Out of politeness, I say it back, and I continue my prior engagement with my favorite morning buddy–breakfast.
After a few minutes of sniffing around for a good snack, I come across my dad. He then greets me with the same two words. Good morning, he says. His expression was completely flat, and something about it made me wonder if he really did mean a good morning. Setting my suspicions aside, I smile and greet him. Good morning.
After eating breakfast, I quickly return to my safe haven. I crash back onto my now-tidy bed, crack my laptop open and enter the cyber world. As usual, I see messages left for me to read. I decide to open the one I see first and there I read something quite familiar. G’morning, it says, with a wacky emoji right beside it. I choose to ignore it completely and move on to the rest of the message.
Seriously though, I thought. What’s so good about the morning?
Each day, whether I decide to look at the day as a good one or not, I encounter these two words. Sometimes I notice, and other times I don’t. Is it just a routine? Or do people really mean what they say?
Amidst my thoughts, I find myself looking out the window. The sun is hanging low and the breeze is still cool in the dawn of day. In my silence, I hear the city wake from its slumber. Cars begin to swarm the streets and the aroma of brewed coffee wafts into my nostrils. Noises like the trees swaying in the breeze are trampled upon by the horns of impatient drivers. It wasn’t a new sight to me, but somehow this time felt different.
And in the most unsuspecting moment, I understood.
In the day’s wake, we have chosen to rise with it no matter the circumstances yesterday, and no matter the consequences tomorrow. It’s in the way we see things. It’s in the way we live. We get up. We live through the day. And no matter what the reason is; whether it be for our parents, our siblings, our significant other, school, work or the mere taste of freshly baked bread in the morning, we all choose to rise with the new sun and hope that we’ll have the good morning we’ve been longing for.
“Your Identity”
This might not pique your interest as this is not about love.
But that’s exactly the point.
You and I know it’s almost always true. Well, as they say, love is all around us…
Literally.
You all share your tragic love stories, your curiosity to feel the warmth of another’s skin, your longing for a heart to beat in-sync with yours, your helplessness under the sweet caress of your lover…
But I’m telling you now,
This is not the only thing you can write about.
This is not the only thing worth writing about.
You’d be lying if you said you weren’t sick of everyone constantly talking about love. I’m not saying it’s wrong to write about it. There is absolutely nothing wrong about it.
But, darling, is that really the only thing you want to read or write about all the time?
The world isn’t love. And love isn’t the world. Aside from love, many things fill the world as we know it; an infinite number of things we can talk about and yet, we confine ourselves. There are endless dimensions of you that you, yourself, don’t know about.
Let yourself out.
Let the universe inside you out where everyone can see.
It doesn’t matter what you talk about.
It doesn’t have to be love all the time.
You can write about the way the stars twinkle at night.
You can write about the moon and how it sheds light on a sea of grass.
You can write about how your day went at school.
You can write about the way your coffee tingles your tastebuds.
You can write about the nice dress you bought earlier today.
You can write about your dreams and your aspirations.
And I would listen to you.
I would read each and every single page, sentence and word.
Darling, I know you’re more than just your summer fling or your romance. Let me swim in the ocean of your dreams and the sea of your hopes and aspirations.
Let me in and tell me who you really are.
“I Don’t Need You”
Darling, in me, is an ethereal piece of the cosmos. I will not descend from the heights of the stars and the planets to reach you.
Darling, flowing in my veins, is sparkling red wine blessed by the Grecian gods. May the only one to partake of me be that of a god.
Darling, in my eyes, are two planets of amber with a core of pure mystery. In their sacred space, they wish to show themselves to one who is worthy.
Darling, in my heart, lies the most innocent kind of hope, encrusted only with rose gold and the hardest of all quartz. May it not shed its light upon you.
Darling, in my mind, is an everlasting clash between fiction and fact. May you never learn the secrets I hold in the depths of my chambers.
I am ephemeral.
And I do not wish to waste myself away with the likes of you.
But, if you still do not understand, my darling, I will make it simpler.
I do not need you.
In fact, I never did.
More Ice Cream
Craving for your sweetness After dinner’s bitter taste I am hungry
“Stardust”
A short piece dedicated to a special aircraft pilot, my father.
And even in your youth, you knew what you wanted. It was like a star at your reach; you grabbed it when you had the chance to. You clenched your fists as hard as you could, keeping them close to your heart.
Even until now, the stardust still flows in your veins. The dream still lives in you and everyone can see.
I would’ve wanted to see the moment you were given your license,
I would’ve wanted to see the moment they chose you to be the chief pilot of your airline.
I would’ve wanted to see the moment you were awarded as the Pilot of the Year.
I would’ve wanted to see your face.
And how it lit up, like the star you held close to you, dwelled in your eyes.
For so many years now, you’ve worked as a pilot. But somehow, I’m convinced that you haven’t quite grasped it yet. You gaze at your Dornier 2282 as if you’ve never seen it before in your life; like you haven’t already memorized its tiniest parts and its most complex functions.
I know this won’t mean much compared to what’s already happened to you but, I, as your daughter, just have to say,
I am proud of you.
I am so, so proud of you.
And I promise to you that someday, I’ll be able to catch my very own star.
I just hope you’ll be there to see it.
I love you.
