Going into a meeting with production
When my coworker and I successfully complete a season together
When an editor calls me to say they need to make changes to a cut I have already prepped
Iâm like:
Trying to get a cut to go out on time
Watching the crews handle hard drives
Iâm like:
Doing a slate check and someone asks what day it is
Happy #MeanGirls Day! ;)

When I tell people I work the night shift
Day people are like:
Whenever I am asked to stay late at work
or are a #nightAE
Actual scene of Ramsays death:
Whenever I ask the camera op why there are no slates
When the AEs actually have time to step out for lunch

To all the women in Post (and the Industry, in general)
(Sidenote: TOTALLY not singling out anyone in this post, male or female. If you get all butthurt about this post, #sorrynotsorry. Check yourself. More to do with you than with me)
To all my ladies in Post (and the rest of the Industry): all you Assistant Editors, Editors, Post PAs, Post Coordinators, Post Supervisors, Sound Editors, Colorists, Sound Mixers, Story Editors, Story Producers, Producers, EPs, Company Owners, and MORE! (Shout out to all my Production peeps, too).Â
Day in and day out we deal with the issues surrounding being a female in a predominantly male industry. The inequality of pay. Being judged for having kids (true story, Iâve heard EPs make remarks about ânot hiring moms. Means theyâll miss workâ comments). Being told weâre âbitchyâ for standing up for ourselves. Not being âtechyâ enough. Getting passed up on jobs. Etc. Etc. It ainât easy. Continue to hustle. Youâve got this!
To my minority ladies (thatâs me!): Weâve got a double-whammy! But that doesnât stop us, does it? Hell no. Keep kicking ass!
To the dudes who support us ladies in this industry: THANK YOU! Sincerely. We appreciate you. :)
Happy International Womenâs Day!Â
