To all the women in Post (and the Industry, in general)

(Sidenote: TOTALLY not singling out anyone in this post, male or female. If you get all butthurt about this post, #sorrynotsorry. Check yourself. More to do with you than with me)

To all my ladies in Post (and the rest of the Industry): all you Assistant Editors, Editors, Post PAs, Post Coordinators, Post Supervisors, Sound Editors, Colorists, Sound Mixers, Story Editors, Story Producers, Producers, EPs, Company Owners, and MORE! (Shout out to all my Production peeps, too). 

Day in and day out we deal with the issues surrounding being a female in a predominantly male industry. The inequality of pay. Being judged for having kids (true story, I’ve heard EPs make remarks about “not hiring moms. Means they’ll miss work” comments). Being told we’re “bitchy” for standing up for ourselves. Not being “techy” enough. Getting passed up on jobs. Etc. Etc. It ain’t easy. Continue to hustle. You’ve got this!

To my minority ladies (that’s me!): We’ve got a double-whammy! But that doesn’t stop us, does it? Hell no. Keep kicking ass!

To the dudes who support us ladies in this industry: THANK YOU! Sincerely. We appreciate you. :)
