A Really Bad Spirit Adoption Application: a Post on What NOT to Submit

hi im jordan kale surname iii jr and i am applying for ex the tutor spirit i’m 19. i live in springfield, ohio my phone number is 555-3298, and heres my ssn 777-77-7777 also my email is [email protected]. im a witch of 23 years and spirit companion of 24 years. i have 13 ccompanions, i got 3 last week. i think ex is the perfect companion bc i like tutor sprts like ex, and he nad i like all the same things. wow! were a perfect match. the best part is that i havent had a tutor spirit yet and ex can be that spirit.

OKAY so what is wrong with this example submission?

Too Much Personal Informational Information

Our “applicant” gives out a lot of personal information. We just need your first name and age. No need for your, phone number, and of course don’t give up your ssn. An email is okay but it’s almost redundant because most shops don’t contact you via email. While we’re on contact information, please also remember to NOT submit an anonymous application.

Inconsistent Information

Our “applicant” also clearly lies in their application. Clearly they don’t have 23-24 years of experience since they’re 19. When it comes to applications, PLEASE don’t lie. If you’re caught in a lie, especially a serious one, you WILL lose any chance of getting a spirit companion from our shop and more than likely any other shop. We’re serious about who we adopt out to, so the chances of you getting a second chance is near impossible.

Didn’t Read the Spirit’s Bio

Our example spirit is Ex the Example spirit, not Ex the Tutor spirit. Ex goes by they/them pronouns. Our “applicant” fails to even understand who Ex is, they even go as far as just pandering to them. Please remember to address spirits by their proper pronouns and also know basic information about them. This also goes for applying for spirits that are 18+ Spirits or for more experienced spirit workers. If you don’t meet the requirements, don’t apply.

Too Many Spirit Companions in a Short Time

Our applicant has an application for Ex. and just got 3 new spirit companions on top of their other 10 spirit companions. What you don’t see on our applicant’s application is that they applied for Am the Sample Spirit, and Ref the Reference Spirit from our hypothetical shop. Turns out that our applicant has 3 other applications in at other hypothetical shops. And they didn’t mention any of this to us. Leaving out information such as having applications elsewhere and applying multiple times (4+ applications) at once will get you on a watch list or a banned list faster than anything else. Be honest. Be decent. Don’t lie.

Short Application

Applications should be lengthy. If you can screenshot your whole application on your phone then it’s too short. If it meets the bare requirements on length, it’s too short. Make your application thorough. You are applying for to have a companion and you should want to make a great first impression.

Me the Psychic Pygmy Lindwurn

These dragons are only a few months old, having hatched in the beginning of March, but due to their species strong psychic abilities, are nearly completely mentally mature. Physically, they are rather vulnerable, partially due to their size, which will not change much as they mature, and partially due to their age. They are between a foot and a foot and a half long, and have two legs just below their heads, and are solid colored. They have two horns on their heads, curling back, and furry manes that extend about six inches past their heads. They are capable of flight through magic, despite not having wings, and have demonstrated the ability to breathe fire. They are very social, and need to go to a home with an established family, and due to their vulnerability and lack of ability to defend themselves well, are better off placed with a companion who already has some experience with warding and defense. Strong psychic abilities are not a must in their companion however, as their natural abilities are enough to make up for any weaknesses on the part of their companion. 

 Me is a very happy dragon! Easily the most playful of the hatchlings, it’s hard not to smile when they’re around. They’re very much a lover, and they are so excited to meet their new family. They do ask that they go to a large family, or one that plans on expanding in the future, as they want to make lots of new friends. They seem to embody fun, and if you’re having trouble finding a reason to smile, I promise you, they can find one.

L the huldra

L is 19, she is a female nature spirit called a Huldra. Her skin is pretty dark in color and she has many freckles all over the place that are slightly darker than her skin color she is. She has very curly, Caramel, brown hair that reaches all the way to her knees, She keeps her hair parted to one side due to face framing bangs, she also likes to keep her long hair in either one long messy braid or two long pigtail braids. She has high cheekbones and slim eyebrows. L has big brown puppy eyes that she uses to get what she wants, she’s just too cute to say no to. Her nose is rather short and flat. Her face is pretty rounded along with large pointed fawn’s ears and full lips with a peaked Cupid’s bow.

L’s back is made of oak wood, it kind of looks hollow. She also has a long brown cow’s tail that she hides under long dresses and skirts.

She’s a bit of a goofball and has a weird love for absolutely terrible jokes. She’s extremely observant which leads her to being pretty nosy but she always has good intentions with it. L is super sweet and always tries to help when you need it, even when you don’t ask for it. Unfortunately she has a hard time knowing when to leave you alone, but she’s understanding and doesn’t hold grudges

L doesn’t really know really know how to identify she just likes who she likes. She absolutely does not want to be teaching whatsoever, she’ll answer questions and what not but she will not be a teacher. She’s good at glamour magic, plant magic, scrying, astral travel, meditation, and divination.

L likes the forest, fun music (anything she considers a “bop”), books, tv shows,Disney, plants, and drawing.

She’d prefer a medium spirit family, but if you don’t have many spirits it doesn’t matter as long as you’re planning on having more. She can communicate via basically any form of divination. She’s not great with telepathy though. L does love astral traveling. K ls light arts aligning, and doesn’t mind curses.

o no i made a mistake i believe. i thought the application for Me the Lindwurn dragon was just for Me and not his siblings as well, or is it just for Me? sorry, i have a hard time understanding things sometimes. But if it is for Me AND his siblings i of course would love to take them all. I must have read it wrong i think. My apologies!
