I’ve decided to take a break from Tumblr in light of my health issues and the never ending busyness and chaos it’s currently causing , I’m not sure when I will be back but my asks and inbox are always open (and notifications on)
oh yeah also HBD to Land Between Our Bodies 💜 She started posting in november 2025!
Hard to believe it's been a year of Simon making Wille take off his sunglasses and then regretting it.
Big thank you to everyone who commented on that fic and said anything you liked about it. Writing it was a huge labour of love and knowing some people enjoyed it really made such a difference for me.
i think i must have talked about this before at some point last year , over on my other blog @putrefacerem .
but i think what online social spaces suffer the most from , is their performative nature. the way social media sites are structured force you to advertise yourself , to generate an idea of yourself over and over again in order to be 'seen' and 'acknowledged'. you have to turn yourself , your work , into content that you think resonates with people , or be steamrolled by the algorithm and other users. paradigm shifts are often pretty universal and damning , and in order to stay relevant , soc med expects you to adapt to trends.
needless to say how this often facilitates and encourages cultures of toxicity and behavior that savagely puts others down.
and while people's actions will always catch up with them sooner or later , accountability is not easily accounted for. and i think one of the biggest factors is that you do not have to face the other. you are not in the same room. you don't pick up on their body language, the mood, their face. and i think that the face is very , very important in human interaction. if not the most important variable. the vulnerability you may perceive in the other. also , it isn't so easy to vacate the room or flee consequences when you are physically there. but online spaces are so vast , and things move so quickly that a person can evade accountability and consequences for a long time. critical thought and reflective abilities are also not needed , nor is it incentivized that they are being developed.
but i guess the short of it is , curate your space as carefully as you can and be mindful of your emotions and needs. soc med is designed to foster negativity and outrage , and it is important to not forget that. even here , in this hobby.

Day 31: Dragon Creature!V. We're getting ourselves ready for Creature Perpetua Month.
Wolfwood plucks out his cig. “Listen, blondie, I got no interest in saints. I’m just as fucked up as you are, but I’ll tell you one thing: she isn’t.” His whole arm levers at Meryl, who freezes in surprise. “She’s the kind of good you and I actually wish we could be, and for some damn reason, she loves both of us. So if someone like her can look at our sorry asses—” He turns to Meryl, his dark eyes brimming with light over the frames of his shades. ”—and still see good in us, maybe it really is there.”
