a total lie spouted from his friend’s lips, one which earns only the most dramatic of eye rolls. before eli came around, never had the world seen someone attempt a pick-up line in the romantic atmosphere of drunken beer pong. the memories flood back in technicolor, and a warm smiles creases across his face again. perhaps he lived too much in the past, but it did wonders with helping him cope with the fact that they were getting to be ancient artifacts. he still did not understand the difference between instagram, twitter, and dadbook.
❝ dude, that’s a show that only you like to watch. ❞ he begins with a light sigh, calloused hand now swirling his drink with a forlorn straw. ❝ i dunno. i feel like i should be… doing whatever work i can’t do when they’re around. make the most of the quiet, y’know? ❞
❝ IT’S A GOOD SHOW ! ❞ if you liked to get lost in mindless dumb reality stuff that was but it sure did beat moping around feeling sorry for himself now that amanda’s all grown up and not needing him as much anymore , seriously , elijah’s still unsure how he’s going to cope without her constant presence in the house .
still , they’d get through it . just like craig will get through two weeks without his girls , the guy sure did deserve a good break . ❝ you do enough work already , you can do me when they’re gone -- i mean , we can do stuff . together . like old times . ❞
