this is my new toned tan sketchbook that i decorated with a bunch of bats. i’ve been working more with alcohol markers and charcoal as of recently. these are just pages i picked out because the rest of the pages are mostly a hot mess. i’m especially happy with how i’ve gotten looser with charcoal sketching (except for what’s under that yellow sticky note ;E)

i haven’t collaged much this summer but i bought YET ANOTHER national geographic and i felt guilty for stockpiling them w/o cutting ‘em up. so here’s a little thing that isn’t super complicated but i like how it turned out. these floaty men are doing some sorta navy training exercise.

non-art related but me-related: i made coconut macaroons! doing Almost Anything with the possibility of making mistakes in the process scares the hell out of me, so i don’t really go near baking offen. but i’ve been watching the netflix show “nailed it” and at least i know to put flour in a pan, karen, so i decided i should bake something instead of roasting other people who bake things on netflix. i made a couple mistakes: the bottoms are a little extra toasty, they’re a total mess, and i added way too much vanilla. still they’re not too bad and i’m proud that i actually got through doing something foreign and potentially disasterous without beating myself up too much. the recipe is linked if you wanna join the macaroon party

misc. sketchbook update from april/may, if it can be called that. first in some jeffrey lewis studies apparently because he’s just got a kinda weird face to draw. second is a mix of a sktchy thing and a drawing of an eel and its scary and messy and kinda makes me laugh. then for the third one i drew outta my art history book and i can’t remember the painting names rn but you know how it is

hahaa buhhhh i haven’t posted any sketchbook stuff (including the LAST PAGE OF MY LAST SKETCHBOOK) in a while. these technically aren’t sketchbook pages but they got decent scans today. first is a collage i did recently where i started with the head shaving pic and worked off of that. second is a little comic thing of my shark in marine bio. something about the tank always relates to “in a jar” to me and i’ve wanted to draw this in a while. i am baddd at perspective and boxes/tanks (peep how i covered the other tanks up in panel #1. anyway this is long winded, nobody asked, it’s all good.

okie dokie and here’s a sketch page trying to figure out how i wanted to do this one idea i had about making a little thing that kinda flows like a comic to “in a jar” lyrics. page 2 is a page of different moments from “rosemary’s baby” for a film studies assignment and for my own wellbeing because i want to finish this damn sketchbook but the cut out roses sure are cute aren’t they

ok next set- the first page is a hodge podge with some doodles in the bottom. the top half is me drawing while watching “love island”, the best tv show ever created and “I’M FALLUN’ IN LOVE WIF YU IN THYS VILA” is still my favorite quote. page 2 is more sktchy folks in a mix of cheap watercolor and cheap gouache, with the lettering in posca pens

i haven’t made a post in very very very long and i apologize. i also apologize that i had to cover venus de milo’s decently-shaded tiddies because of the new tumblr stuff. anyway both pages are drawn from my art history textbook. feb. 2nd is in pencil and feb 6th (?) is with prismacolor grey markers in warm, cool and french that my mom somehow found at a thrift shop (how does she) so there we go. i like snake boy and the pantheon

january 30th: collage and whatnot. just wanted to put some photos together that somehow seemed suited for each other.

january 31st: drew eight pictures from a woman’s sktchy profile, blacked out her name on here just in case. did some tiny little flowers up in there too. i like the top left corner and the scissor picture in the bottom left corner the most.

january 20th is just about me finally deciding to do something and stop dwelling on stuff and paint a photo i found on reddit.

january 29th is a ink thing of this cool church in norway we briefly looked at in art history. i didn’t necessarily do it justice but it was a nice project to work on.
