TWO OF THE industry’s top soloists, BLCKDG and Iris, take on the new job as the hosts for Weekly Idol. The well-seasoned pair will feature as hosts July through October, partaking in all segments of the program with the main segment of the show continuing as “Idol of the Week”.
BLCKDG — known as a former member of the infamous and groundbreaking duo BLCKSPDR — has the most experience out of the the new hosts. Having served as a guest trainer for a single episode on the KMG Entertainment survival show Our Girls in 2018, he gained recognition for his ability to mentor those younger and less experienced than himself. Although Weekly Idol is a different setting and type of show, it is fair to assume that he will pull on his brief experience on the survival show to be an effective host.
Known for her bold and sexy style, it is said Iris will show her softer and more personable side on the show. No stranger to the program, the soloist has appeared on Weekly Idol a few times before as a guest, but now she puts on the hat of host. Despite her controversial image, it is safe to say that she will draw in many viewers each week simply as a host. Many QTs endearingly remember Weekly Idol as where she revealed her egg allergy.
