The leen themes link on the hazbin hotel tumblr links to a dead site. The first time I clicked the link, it lead me to a small scam, which guess I fell for because I thought it was was a Hazbin Hotel affiliate and I wasn't being smart. I'll check my browser for malware. Subsequent clicks to the link lead to an abandoned leenthemes related website. I want to make sure y'all were aware of this.
Thanks for the notice, the site must have deactivated in the 3+ years since I set up the theme on this blog. I left up the name of the theme maker for credit but have deleted the link to the dead site so no one else can follow it.

As for the “why,” no official statement was made. But the Octavia and Stolas accounts made these in character posts on, I believe, January 16:

And Vivzie released this official statement on the semi-canonicity of the Instagram accounts.
Now, nothing I’ve seen from the creators explains WHY the Hazbin accounts were “archived”/deleted. I’ve seen gossip from fans, but I don’t want to spread around unsubstantiated claims without concrete evidence; so the most I’ll say (and what seems to be supported by the initial in character posts made on Octavia and Stolas’s accounts) is that there are rumors that folks were directing NSFW content at Octavia’s account, and so they decided to archive it... and, for some reason, all the Hazbin accounts too.
If someone has more concrete evidence explaining this chain of events, feel free to send it. (And please note that I said CONCRETE EVIDENCE, not more rumors. If all you have is “well I heard that—” then I probably heard the same things you did and more. I’m looking for direct statements from creators or screenshots of whatever actually went down, not unsubstantiated gossip.)
But right now, that’s all we know.
Right now, I’m working to dig all the deleted images out of the wiki, where most of them have luckily been stored. I’m also trying to find as many quotes of in character discussions as possible; if you’ve got any posts/tweets/screenshots/whatever where you happened to preserve any snippets of conversation between the in character Hazbin blogs, I’d appreciate y’all sending them my way so I can pair them with their relevant posts.
I know a lot of people are reacting to a few of the crew statements about the instagrams but as the head of this project I want to take some responsibility and add some additional clarity to the situation! <3
I want to first thank everyone for enjoying what the crew has done, and thank the crew for so many laughs and amazing moments with these accounts.
The biggest thing I’d like to clarify is that just because the Helluva instagrams aren’t 100% canon doesn’t mean they aren’t accurate to the character’s personalities. They are handled by the crew who know these characters and I trust the crew to create fun low stakes stories and jokes with them. Some of the storylines were things we felt would be fun for the audience entirely separate from the actual show. They are meant to be informed, they just aren’t written by me or the writers, so they can’t be entirely canon. We are busy making the actual show, but the instagrams are meant to be entertainment to help between episodes, and the crew having some breaktime fun!
I promise that the main reason for them was because the crew had funny, clever ideas, and the character’s personalities are so strong their social media is a great outlet to get to know them. It’s possible here and there the knowledge of the show’s story seeped into the personalities and caused some confusion, so I think moving forward that is what we will all be most conscious of. But in the end they are just meant to give you all more insight to this world and cast, while we work hard to bring you more episodes.
They are a lovely bridge between show and audience, everyone running the instagrams loves these characters and want to make each other and the fans laugh.
I am very sorry it wasn’t stated sooner that they weren’t entirely canon. I promise the intention was not to fool or disappoint anyone. I hope they can still be an enjoyable thing, but I just wanted to apologize for not saying something sooner. We had no idea they would gain such traction or be followed so closely.
This is the first full statement we’ve gotten on the canonicity of the Instagram accounts. The tl;dr version for anyone going BUT HOW CANON ARE THEY???:
- They’re NOT being run by the writers; but they ARE being run by artists who have insider knowledge of where the writers are heading.
- Are the blogs “canon,” i.e., everything that happens on them literally happened within the continuity of the show? No.
- But: if you want to know where canon is headed and how the characters are likely to act, is it a smart idea to use the accounts as a loose guidepost for the creators’ plans? Yes.

So! Since this is the first Voxtagram post, lemme include the big ol’ disclaimer that’s going to apply to all of these posts: we don’t yet know how canon these accounts are.
This is why they’re broadly accepted as canon: as far as I have been able to track back (correct me if you know better & have a source!), the first of these accounts, Blitzo’s, was found by fans because Vivzie followed it when it was brand new. Since then, new accounts have been discovered as they follow/interact with each other. Some official artists have interacted “in character” with the accounts. The accounts accurately announced when the “Addict” music video was going to come out, and some art posted before “Addict” used imagery that was also used in the music video. So either the accounts are definitely made by the canon creators or else being made by somebody who’s got inside access to the creators.
But, as far as I have seen, nobody on the Hazbin crew has taken credit for running them. More importantly, nobody has said how canon the blogs are. Maybe every image/word posted by these accounts is 100% accurate/canonical; or maybe the art is canon but the roleplaying in the comments is noncanon goofy fanservice; etc. We don’t know yet. It appears safest to say these accounts are probably mostly canon—but take it with a grain of salt.
So until we’re directly informed how canon the Voxtagram accounts are, Voxtagram posts are going to be tagged “#semi canon” (the same tag I’ll be using for stream transcripts) to indicate that it appears to be info coming from the creators, but it may or may not still be canon/accurate by the time the full shows and comics are released.

Okay, I think I’m out of lazy/easy canon things to post, starting tomorrow I’ve gotta do some actual work. I’ll probably begin with the backlog of Instagram pictures and comments. I’ll probably try to deliberately stay 1-2 days behind on the Instagram posts to account for the possibility that the official accounts might come back to add more roleplaying to an already-posted picture, but otherwise I’ll be trying to stay pretty close to up-to-date with the Instagram posts.

- The Angel Dust prequel comic, as the next bit of actual canon—probably just a lower-definition copy of the whole thing plus dates so it’s clear what went up when, plus a link back to the original.
- Get started on mirroring the backlog of Instagram images and comments.

This one was harder to screenshot because the images were moving. Maybe I’ll make full-sized composites of these images later.
I’ve seen quite a few of these pics floating around fandom but as far as I can tell, only as screenshots from how they were used within this clip. I haven’t seen posts with them made by their original artists. It looks like the credits versions of these images are higher definition than the ones used in the show itself. If any of you know the original sources for any of these images, I’d appreciate a link! (Especially since it’d save me from having to make composites of them.)
