Growing up in the Underworld was not to Daisy’s taste. It wasn’t just her parents who encouraged something different for her, but she had always wanted something better for herself, too. The people down there were so one-sided, closed minded to the possibility of disguised chaos. Everyone just liked the idea of torturing humans outright, but Daisy knew there was a better way. They could be so much more effective if they came off friendly first, attacking from the inside. No one ever believed in her or her ideas until she met one Charlie Cheshire.
Though they were true opposites when they met, the more time she spent with Charlie, the more Daisy feel like they were becoming a team. He as the best friend she had in the Underworld, and even her best friend in life once they came to the surface together. Somehow, they brought out the worst in each other, and if she thought she could be chaotic alone, it doubled with Charlie. Her methods of seducing men and luring them in worked in Animania, and Charlie didn’t like it. It wasn’t her fault that it worked; if anyone, he had humans and other fickle creatures to blame for being so brainless.
The breakup with Charlie was ridiculous. He just didn’t see the potential they had together as a team, and Daisy really tried to get him to open up his eyes and look to the future. She knew that his future was going nowhere without her, but she grew impatient, fast. There were many men up in Animania who would fall head over heels for her if she had it her way, and if Charlie didn’t want to be one of them, so be it. She packed all her things and moved out, leaving fire in her wake.
Becoming a dancer at Wonderland was the best thing to ever happen to Daisy. She found people who got her beyond Charlie for the first time in her life. Having sisters from the Underworld up in this one made her feel more at home than she ever had felt before. Wonderland is kind of crazy, and she doesn’t really trust Beth entirely, but Daisy has a good life there, and she doesn’t want to ruin it. Instead, she keeps working on both her dancing and her ability to ruin men, making a good living off both of them.
Working at the flower shop is Daisy’s escape. It’s the one thing that she can do for herself without feeling like she’s ruining something. She’s actually really good at putting together arrangements and selling them, and she knows Paislee is someone she should keep in her corner. Daisy doesn’t know why, but she seems so familiar, and feels like home. She wants to ask the woman why she seems so familiar to her, but she doesn’t want to lose her job at the flower shop, either.
Ruining Charlie’s life is now her goal. Daisy’s read the gossip news and all that bullshit about who he’s been hanging around and has taken note of all of it. She wouldn’t call herself a stalker, but she keeps tabs on him, from afar. He’s just beginning to unravel, she can sense it, and she knows her time is coming to swoop in and go for the kill. He doesn’t know it, but the exact tactics Daisy once warned him about—getting closer to her prey and letting them feel comfortable—are going to be his downfall. It’s sad, really. If only he’d paid more attention in the first place, Charlie would see what’s coming his way.
Daisy’s been enjoying seeing the new places Animania has opened up to, especially New Salem. There’s something about the town that she can feel in her bones is different about it than anywhere else. The people there aren’t people, that much she can tell, and she wants to get to know them all.
