What are some things they don't tell you after completing your first draft?
Co-workers: you're so anti-social, always in your little world.
Me: *sitting in the corner, disassociating while writing my book in my head*
I finished my first draft!
Scratch my balls and call me Dumbledore!
I took so much time away from social media to write more, and I'm 5 chapters away from completing my first book!
me: i think i’m gonna write something light and fun me: *opens doc* me: so anyway here’s a story about grief, generational trauma, and a boy who dies in the snow
writing is hard when your brain goes ‘this sentence is mid’ and you’re like ‘ok? you wrote it???? do better then????'
If you read the fic, leave the kudos. Leave a comment too, if possible. Just do it. It takes a few seconds of your time and it means the world to the writer.
Sincerely, me who just got told that my writing feels like watching a blockbuster movie. I don't care if they were sincere or not, I'll be thinking about that comment for the rest of my life and every time I feel bad about my art, I'll remember that someone once liked it.
does anyone else hate that work takes up like 90% of your life and you literally are always working and have to form plans and important things and even seeing friends or eating meals around work. it's always just work. im spending my life just being At Work. i don't have time for hobbies or for seeing friends bc it’s always Work. like two days off a week isn't even enough because my days off aren't consecutive so i just spend those days exhausted or doing errands or house chores. there is not enough Time. all the time goes to Work. WHY IS LIFE THIS WAY. humans were not meant for this
*writes two paragraphs after months of literally nothing and it took three hours*
Nobody asked, but personally, the first 5 chapters are very hard to write. My life depends on them, no, MY STORY depends on them. If I'm not into those chapters, how do I expect people to read the story?
I'm currently working on them and I feel pretty solid. Everything will flow easily and quickly once my foundation is set (I tell myself).
Do you agree or disagree?

Please don't worry if you write slow in comparison to others. 100 words a day? 50 words a week? 5 words an hour? Those are all words that weren't there before and that's so great.
the duality of writing.
you’re either 1000% convinced this is the best story you’ve ever created, or you’re absolutely certain it’s unreadable trash.
Am I alone on this? I love to write, but after a while, I can't go back and read what I wrote. I find my stuff cringe-worthy sometimes.
I think it's because I have a fear of rereading and changing what I wrote entirely :/
New Year, New Opportunities
I'm eight days late but, HAPPY NEW YEARS! I hope you all ended 2024 achieving the things you planned whether big or small. 2025 is here, and my goals for this blog are still in motion. I didn't imagine me having an audience on here but I'm so thankful for you guys!
I still have yet to create the master post but when I start posting weekly, it'll be one of the first things I upload (I haven't betrayed you guys).
Cheers to more to come, and I hope you all have a healthy and safe new year :)
i found this image to be quite inspirational, thus i wish to share it. you don't have to make something phenomenal much less rather something exceptional. you must first put it out there and tweak things later because you cannot build off of something you put nothing into. some day you'll regret never putting yourself out there.
create beautiful, wonderful things.
