Hello everyone, dailyfinny mun here ❤️

It's making me super sad having to write this post, but unfortunately this blog has run its course, and I'll be retiring it for now, potentially indefinitely. My work and personal life has gotten so busy at the moment and I'm struggling to find the time to keep this blog going.

I'll still be relatively active over on my main blog @lumassen so feel free to come and say Hi whenever you need some Finny in your life.

Thank you to all who interacted with this little blog, and I'm so sorry that I've not been able to continue with it the way I wanted. I've had sooo much fun on here and I hope you've all enjoyed it too 🥰

We’re good friends, it’s impossible not to smile when you’re around him, and he makes me feel youthful LOL! He’s such a sweet boy, and in many ways we share similar values and have lots in common, though I can’t say I believe in the aliens quite as much 😅

Do you have a set home? Or do you travel around city to city? Either way what is your favorite city in your country?

I live in Porvoo! I've lived there for just over 100 years, I got my house shortly after my independence. I don't like to move around very much, Norway teases me and calls me a hermit, but as lots of human Finn's do I have a summer cottage in a very rural part of my country that I go to often!

To tell the truth my house is a little out dated as far as humans are concerned, but I just can't keep up with how quickly modernities evolve these days!

But with that being said, even though I don't move around all that much, I just can't choose a favourite city! My people have made each one so special for many different reasons, and each hold a special place in my heart.

I'm surprised Sweden managed to last until 102c. I'm Swedish, but I personally melt in anything above 25+ Celsius. 😂 xD . On the flip-side I can walk around in shorts and t-shirt in -20 Celsius and snow if no one stops me, so perhaps it evens out. 😂 xD

Hi Jezzica! Well, it was quite a show! He wanted to beat Denmark so badly that he waited like a steadfast tin soldier until Denmark got up and left, then immediately after Sweden stumbled out.

There's only 1°C between them, but to Sweden, that's a victory 😅

Let's just say that there's no stranger sight than two naked men laying in the grass outside sweating yet shivering, and that it's a good thing my closest neighbour lives 4 kilometres away!

I hope you enjoy that mental image.

Depending on where I am, I have a traditional smoke sauna at my cottage in North Karelia, and at my home in Porvoo I have a hot rock steam sauna with a wood burner to heat 🥰 The smoke sauna is claimed by most Finns to be the “original” finnish sauna and it has a very long history which is important to me! But sometimes the smoke can feel heavy on my chest, and so my steam sauna can be a more relaxing experience.

I like them both equally, but guests prefer the hot rock steam sauna it seems, but even still they can’t seem to last very long 😅

Though there is one person who is tough competition when it comes to being the last to leave for a cold shower..

And although it’s not really a competition, no one has ever outlasted me yet 😊

I haven't! I'm not sure how I feel about the application, it's a little confusing and the videos just never seem to run out! I think I'll just be using it to see what Madonna is doing for now - it's like we're friends hehe 🥰

Hyvää Joulua! I hope you had a wonderful time if you celebrate Christmas! I certainly did, I actually spent it entertaining guests which I feel like I haven’t done in so long!

New Zealand, you may know them from @more-than-hiking-buddies-askblog , visited me for a little while and it was very nice to have a friend to show around my place. We went of course took to the sauna, ate some great food and went fishing!

I even visited them at their house for a trip too! It was great fun and New Zealand’s house is so beautiful, though I’ll say that it was a very unique way to spend Christmas when I’m used to snow and Ice….

aww mate! It was fantastic being in Finland although I swear if I was ever mortal I'd come home with a massive cold. Not even taking the piss, I don't think I've ever seen so much snow in my life! That's saying something since I've lived in South Island!

And honestly, having you come over and have a true kiwi Christmas with me was lovely. I was able to get out my little Barbie just for the kiwi experience too and you were such lovely company!

Though I have to admit it was also quite funny seeing you absolutely cook in the heat. I really should of brought more sunscreen for you.

Hopefully you'll come back though. Maybe in the winter though. I'm sure the fact I don't have heating in my house, won't bother you like it does for others. Especially since you seem to like the negative degrees.

Nonnnni- I’ll say what was funny, and it’s when you couldn’t stand up after your feet had gone numb, and you even had fur lined boots! Luckily no one was around to see you being carried back to the cottage over my shoulder 😊 though I couldn’t sauna for nearly a week when I got home from my visit to you, my sunburn was too bad! 🥵 but the heatstroke was worth it to be able to sit outside with lovely scenery and be looked after by such a wonderful host 🥰

I’ll definitely come back to visit soon! Just perhaps not in the middle of your summer. LOL I feel like my summer climate and your winter climate are very amusingly similar, so we’ll meet in the middle next time!

I think this question is more for Iceland but, if they're comfortable of course, how did they come out to all of you with their new pronouns? Only answer if they want to! 🥰🥰

Iceland was never comfortable with being seen as a “boy or a girl”, and especially as a nation it was difficult for them to just choose one, as we aren’t even really human! So once us Nordics started using “they” as Sweden suggested when we first met Ice, many others began to use it too.

I can’t imagine using anything else but they/them in English now for Islanti, it just fits who they are perfectly. It suits them, it’s very ethereal! Plus it’s a lot nicer than ‘it’ 😅 but it works in Finnish I promise!!
