Burn, Chandra, burn!
New Rogue Ability: UNDERCOVER
Super interesting mechanic idea. Feels very appropriate for the colors, too.
The point is that I really want four color commanders. I always find myself building for four colors, and using a five colored commander is lame.
I did not create names for them because, they would probably be boring names. (That is the hardest part about making cards.)
*I do not own any of the art featured in the cards, I found them on Google and they looked cool.
Smash Bros. for 3DS Early Access Demo Code Contest
Nintendo sent me three early access codes for a demo version of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS to give away. Since all of my friends and family either don’t have a 3DS or got their own codes and don’t need mine, I don’t want them to go to waste and I’ve decided to pass them along to my followers. Here’s how you can enter. Follow me and reblog this post (don’t just like it). The contest ends Sunday, September 14 at 9 pm EST. At this time I’ll assign all of my followers who reblogged this post a number and enter you into a random number generator to select the winners. I need to be able to contact you to give you your code, so be sure to allow asks, submits and/or fan mail. If I can’t contact you, I will choose another winner right away, so be sure to check your Tumblr settings. There will be three lucky winners whose names I will announce no later than 10 pm EST.
Good luck to you!
NOTICE! Something I forgot to mention!
These are NORTH AMERICAN eshop codes, so you’re going to need a North American 3DS. Any of my followers who are in the PAL regions, you’re out of luck, sorry. Anyone from the PAL regions who reblogged this post, if you end up a winner please let me know so I can choose someone else who can use the code. Thanks for understanding, everyone!
If I had an idea and I told you what it was would you make it look like a real card?
Sure! Although I would also recommend checking out Magic Set Editor so that you can do it on your own :). I'm currently out of a computer right now, so I won't be able to post any new cards for the next few days until my new laptop comes in.
Hey everyone! I’m going to be starting a new blog! It’s called DidYouKnowMtG.Tumblr.com !
It’s much in the same vein as Did You Know Gaming. It’ll feature pieces of trivia, facts, and lore from Magic's history. Here's what I need in future applicants:
Time I want your time and...
Just exploring a little new mechanic based on an old card I did awhile ago. I really like the flavor of House Dimir controlling and benefiting from information flow (card draw), so that's where Espionage came from.
The designs are all super rough, but I haven't posted anything original in awhile, so what the heck :).
(Art found here, here, here, and here)
Magic: the Gathering - Khans of Tarkir Basic Lands
Just amazing art work for all of the basic lands featured in Khans of Tarkir and am looking very much forward to Tumblr buddy 'the art of m:tg' posting high-res images from these great artists latter.
Very cool thingy - each artwork appears to be related to one of the geographies associated with the five clans. Here are the artists with the particulat landscape they were tasked to illustrae. • Abzan: Sam Burley • Temur: Titus Lunter • Sultai: Adam Paquette • Jeskai: Florian De Gesincourt • Mardu: Noah Bradley
Pretty sure there is a misprint here. That bottom left forest should be Abzan, not Mardu.
I really like this one.
Also like this a lot, but agree that it's too strong. The exponential nature of its ability means that it has the power to outspeed Nissa in creating land elementals. Not sure if a rare should be able to do that. That said, the concept is really fantastic!
Live and die as your followers live and die: quickly, painfully, and pathetically.
We’ve got our product images, including a couple spoilers thanks to the intro decks!
Is there a typo in the reminder text of the Shanker?
This creature deals combat damage before creatures with first strike.
Shouldn't that say without first strike?

What about something like espionage?
Espionage is awesome! I think that's my favorite suggestion so far. I'm going to keep looking into some more sorcery-related terms, but Espionage might be the one I go with. Thank you!

Premonition sounds awesome. Would this trigger on additional cards drawn in a turn/out of draw step? I think more of these simple triggers would be awesome. Constellation and Heroic are proof that wizards are doing it more maybe?
Yep, it would trigger on any card draw that an opponent makes, not just the one from the draw step. I'm playing around the idea more of forcing your opponent to draw cards for your benefit.
The only reason I'm hesitant to call it Premonition is because I'm not sure that feels black enough. I want to get across the feeling that you're invading your opponent's and using that information for your own gain. Premonition sounds a little too close to Scry.

Are you going for something like Landfall that has different effects depending on what has it, or one like Prowess that...
More like Landfall. The effect will be different for each card, but the trigger will always be on an opponent drawing a card.
I'm basically looking for the fantasy equivalent of the word "hacking." House Dimir is all about getting into your head and using that information against you.
New Mechanic
Been awhile since I posted any original designs. Decided to revisit some of the Dimir originals I was working on and I want to explore the idea of more non-mill Dimir cards again. I like the flavor of Dimir controlling the flow of information, and so I'm working with a mechanic that triggers an effect whenever an opponent draws a card. I can't come up with a good name for it, though. I want it to get across the flavor of reading your opponent's mind.
Premonition?
Transference?
Mindleech?
I'm open to any suggestions.
