Elvis on the set of Jailhouse Rock — June 12, 1957.
During the filming of Jailhouse Rock, MGM received a crate from Australia addressed to Elvis Presley, containing a young wallaby. Elvis and his friends rushed off the set as soon as they saw it.
But what exactly is a wallaby? That was exactly what Elvis was wondering when a strange-looking box appeared at the MGM studios, postmarked from Sydney. He had expected a wallaby to be something cuddly.
Lee Gordon, a booking agent from Hollywood, had sent the kangaroo as a joke to Elvis. But of course, a film studio is no place for a kangaroo.
Elvis donated the animal to the Memphis Zoo so that everyone could enjoy it and it could receive proper care.

After the concert, Elvis drives to Texarkana with Shirley Delgado. However, halfway through the trip to Texarkana, his Cadillac catches fire. Gladys Presley once recounted how she suddenly woke up in the night with the feeling that something terrible had happened to her son. Others remember how Elvis sat by the side of the road, desolately watching his car burn and saying, "I loved that car!" From Texarkana, Scotty Moore returns to Memphis to pick up the new pink and white Ford Crown Victoria that Elvis had recently bought for his parents, while Elvis and Bill Black fly to Texas.
Elvis returns to Los Angeles after vacationing in Hawaii — June 2nd, 1968.
After all the passengers were seated Elvis and his party were secretly seated in the first class cabin. In the coach section of the plane was a singing group called 'The Young Americans' who were returning from entertaining the troops in Vietnam. Apparently drawn by the impromptu harmonizing of the group, Elvis suddenly stepped through the curtain from first class with a cigar between his fingers and a drink in his hand. The shocked passengers and the young singers quickly gathered and requested autographs.

Elvis, and Gladys and Vernon, photographed at Graceland — June 1st, 1958.
In June 1958, Elvis had a two-week leave. He was back in Memphis and at Graceland, and used that time, among other things, to record in the studio and to see the film King Creole with his parents. On June 14, 1958, he returned to Fort Hood for ten weeks of advanced tank training.
