some True Detective studies! one of my favorite shows of all time, I consider all seasons to be good (still have to watch season 4), but season 1 is… on another level. flawless. perfect. one can’t admire it enough

this is sooo long and self indulgent but writing has been such a high point of my year i'm so elated to talk about it <3
1.Including WIPs, how many fics have you worked on since January 1st 2025?
if we're looking at everything (excluding ideas that are a few paragraphs never to be touched again) around 16 things!
2. How many did you post for other people to read?
seven! very big for me
3. What's something NEW that you tried in a fic?
writing and posting lol... in general i got very into crack-treated-serious and i'd like to think that's my niche here :o)
4. What piece of media inspired you the most?
i feel like this question doesn't apply to me as an rpf warrior so i'll just say think tank
5. How many fandoms did you write for?
a whopping TWO! elastica and gorillaz have also been mentioned
6. What ship(s) captured your heart?
definitely graham/damon but i think in retrospect robbie/liam has been my most favorite of the year. which i have yet to publish anything for but it'll happen i swear
7. What character(s) captured your heart?
damon! i like to put him in my torture nexus
8. Did you write for any new fandoms or ships?
everything this year has been new for me :o)
9. What fic meant the most to you to write?
probably man of the hour? by virtue of being the first fic i finished and decided to actually share with the world! it was a gateway to making friends in this space ^_^
10. What fic made you feel the happiest to work on?
maybe pink glove... i think it's the most stupid ridiculous romp and i had a lot of fun with it and it didn't take much effort!
11. What fic was the most satisfying to finish?
bottom bunk which i just finished!!! it underwent a lot of rewrites and i cut out a lot before i posted it because it just was not working but i found my footing !
12. What fic was the most challenging to work on?
a strange sensation is kicking my ass. i want to finish it sooo bad but i'm feeling quite aimless and i feel the pressure because it's been so kindly received. graham/noel is always difficult by virtue of being Totally Made Up and they're also cartoon characters
13. What's the most interesting topic you researched for a fic?
i had a fun time researching communion for here comes the flood with definitely-rubbish! there's old websites with funny fonts and cross graphics that have scripts for communion that i found very amusing
14. What were your shortest and longest fics?
my shortest was pink glove clocking in at 3 279 and my longest was if he's beside me at 10 324! endlessly frustrating that bottom bunk didn't end up being as long as i wanted/as it was without my necessary cuts but i'm cursed to write short little things
15. What was on your writing playlist?
i don't have one! i listened to bottom bunk a lot
16. Where did you write? Was there a favorite spot?
on my phone... in my bed... at work... when i was a good girl i wrote on my laptop usually on the sofa. my favorite was writing outside on my phone though it wasn't the most practical
17. What’s your favorite title of the year?
probably pink glove because it's a nonsense title but i love the song so much (and i think it's one of pulp's sexiest)
18. Share your favorite opening line.
opening lines... are not my strength... i'd probably have to give it to with a little help even though i think it's pretty clunky
Graham was fuming. He was pissed, both in the sense that he was mad enough to throw the TV out the window and drunk enough not to be able to.
19. Share your favorite ending line.
i DO love an ending line... maybe recency bias but i liked how i ended bottom bunk (SPOILER!!!!!)
He settles into the bottom bunk, pressing Damon's discarded pants to his face. They’ll be old one day, he tells himself, and they’ll still fight like a cat and dog.
20. Share your favorite piece of dialogue.
i'd have to agree with orphanbeat and say it's really hard because dialogue is my children + i don't want to pick a favorite. respectfully i am not near them in expertise but dialogue is still my most favorite part anyways...

21. Share the funniest line(s) you wrote this year.
i would really like to think i'm a funny writer. but now i'm not sure because this is a hard question. here's bottom bunk
Maybe Damon does know him. Maybe he’s the only one who does. Maybe he should stop screwing Alex.
22. Did you get frustrated with a fic at some point? What happened and how did you get past it?
a strange sensation .... how did i get past it? hopefully i can answer this question soon 🥲 again i'd agree with orphanbeat that all writing frustrates me but this one even more so.
i'm also very irritated with a horrible self indulgent gramon fic i've been fiddling with on and off again for a few months because it's far too revealing but i want to write it for my enjoyment. and i just can't
23. If you had to choose one, what was THE most satisfying writing moment of your year?
when a well respected mutual of mine said "everyone keeps telling me about some weird liam/damon/graham threesome fic?!" and i proudly told them it was MINE!
24. Did you do anything special to celebrate finishing something?
posting is such a reward to me ! sometimes i have a drink as well

NONE! i would really love to though. if anyone is reading this far please invite me to your events! i've also flirted with the idea of starting one myself but i'd be really embarrassed if it went nowhere

i'm just proud of how much i've managed to finish! my confidence is something i'll always be working on but the things my mutuals have said about my writing has filled my heart
28. If this were an awards show, who would you thank?
getting genuinely emotional thinking of the insane amount of support i've gotten from my mutuals/friends for writing stupid rpf crack pornography. @daimson made me the most beautiful art + @whoscoxon is so so so kind to me... one trillion percent @trashboating my biggest hugest supporter... and @allyourlife my biggest enabler 💟💟💟💐 all my love to my perverts
29. What would you like to write next year?
i want to FINISH A STRANGE SENSATION. more femslash for sure. i'd like to buckle down and finish my collaboration with the lovely @kingof-swords (👀), write some older gramon, and i reaaaally want to write robbieliam. my next things to expect are probably another gramon pwp + a little alex centric thing
