I'm certainly cautious, and even a little bit frustrated for what they're going for with Woody since like a good third of all trailer were jokes were about him being. I think the bold spot is a bit funny and a nice callback to TS2 but it does get pretty tiring. Part of me d wishes that'd have just go and make him a bonafide cool toy adventurer but that doens't seem to be in the cards. : / I actually think he (and buzz) will be made to look quite foolish in this one and I'm not particularly looking forward to it. I'm still happy to see them tho, they're so strong as a duo that it's just nice to them together.
Woody aisde -which is a turn a phrase I hate to say because he should *not* be aside at all- I still wanna give the benefit of the doubt to the movie. I think there's a lot good stuff in store in the movie, especially with Jessie, they seem to have a pretty interesting thing going on with er.
Looking at the first trailer released a couple months bakc it's clear they want to link it to TS2 strongly one way or another. Which is fair, since TS2 is usually regarded as the best of the series. We just gonna have to wait and see if it's warranted.
The many buzz toys seems like a fun sideplot. I already complained a bit about it, with the fact these are probably meant to be brand-new yet have little differences with 95!Buzz but I can't harp much about it. Gotta admit, this is aura
It won't probably be perfect, maybe not as good as the others but considering the series standars it'll probably be solid still. I try to stay away from spoilers but it admitedly getting difficutl to do so.
I'll def watch it, obviously. Maybe not in opening but my birthday will be coming around so I might do it then. I am pretty bummed to not be near my closest friends or my parents when the movie gets released because this would have been a great occasion to watch it with them. They know how much this series mean to me.

It actually makes sence because they both did liked each other when they were kids and when they grew up they both see that they truly feel love to each other.

beware bc im gonna yap so much abt them omg. Theyre literally one of the best ot3 slash friendship trio slash love triangle in animation to ever exist yall like omfg i am SO obsessed with how much they love each other throughout the entire movie like holysHIT-
I‘ve been rewatching tbol again like crazy yall…i‘ve always loved the movie dearly and it’s one of my top comfort movies to rewatch but omfg. I swear after so many years im like…genuinely so obsessed with it now JDNFJDKDJ- i guess now that im older im able to appreciate the message themes and characters a lot more ahahaha
Throughout the entire movie, from start to finish, there‘s SO much LOVE between them, and despite the rough patches they go through the movie never fails to remind us just how much they matter to each other,,, like the entire movie was basically a coming of age story and watching the trio relearn to understand and love one another as adults and go against what other people and society expect them to do :"D
i know im not the only one who absolutely cherishes how joaquin and manolo‘s friendship and love for each other never truly wavered despite their rivalry over maria‘s heart throughout the years QwQ how they never seriously fought over it or grew resentful of the other like the trope usually goes bc they care abt each other so deeply. And also even tho maria clearly prefers manolo as a romantic partner in the movie we can SEE multiple times that she‘s still so incredibly fond of joaquin and his goofiness despite his missteps and misogynistic remarks at the start and cherishes him deeply too,,, and joaquin's whole arc of unlearning his upbringing and remembering that maria is not just someone whose affection he seeks, but his best friend who he loves and cares abt dearly :")
and that ending ohmygod 😭😭😭 ⚠️‼️SPOILER ALERT ‼️⚠️ but the way joaquin gave up the medal and snuck it to manolo to ensure he survived and was ready to sacrifice himself for him bc he wanted to see both of them happy more than anything…and manolo then fcking uno-reversed joaquin‘s plan to sacrifice himself even tho he JUST came back to life to be by maria‘s side bc he would never let joaquin die if he could help it QWQ THEY ARE SO ??????;?3);€;)€/)/ THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO FCKING MUCH IT HUURTSSS IM THRIVING SO HARD MAN
Literally one of the best OT3 to ever be depicted in animation bro even the director/writer ships them HAHAHA bless him for feeding my delusions…or ig its not rlly a delusion bc WDYM MANOLO AND MARIA END UP MOVING IN WITH JOAQUIN IN HIS FAMILY‘S MANSION AND LIVED TOGETHER AND RAISED THEIR KIDS TOGETHEJRHFJSGAJAHAHAHAHAHA- faints oh i love my trios so so much,,,,
anyway In my head (and i know a lot of you too) they married each other after the movie and raised their children together and lived happily ever after the end <333

One of my fav scenes is actually right after manolo died (the scene before it being one of the most heartbreaking ones...esp with what Joaquin said...man OTL), bc it was then that joaquin realized how petty and meaningless his rivalry with manolo was, not to mention his guilt after what he said, and the all-consuming grief he and maria shared shadowing their unwanted marriage...god, I just rlly adored how bleak and heartwrenching that entire part was qwq how utterly miserable both maria and joaquin were at the loss of their dearest beloved, and the duty and expectations other people put on top of that. This movie is a narrative masterpiece I swear.)
Another little detail I adored was how when manolo thought maria had already chosen joaquin, instead of being angry at joaquin or going into a jealous rage or quiet resentment like the trope would go, he actually smiled at their leaving backs before dropping his smile and moped like a kicked puppy 😭💔💔💔 and joaquin too at the ending...he was obviously so happy for them and so full of love but you can tell he was also sad...I personally don't think he was jealous perse, at least not the typical jealousy of seeing your best friend get together with the one you love. It felt more like...sadness of being left behind :") aND DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE HOW JOAQUIN SADLY LOOKED AT THE BOUQUET HE GOT AND PINNED IT ON HIS JACKET IN THE BACKGROUND???????? OMFG)
