Do you have an example of what the prompts are like?/how does huxloween work? I’ve been hearing about it all year but I’ve never done it before I’m new to tumblr

Welcome to Huxloween, everyone's favourite Kylux-themed event!

We are taking suggestions between now and September 13th for any Halloween-themed and/or vaguely scary, horrifying, festive, etc., ideas. After the 13th, we'll take all the ideas and organize them into a calendar of prompt ideas which we'll post as soon as we can, and then, you create art or fic that matches that theme. The calendar of prompts will have one prompt per day in October, with multiple prompts for the weekends, from the 1st to the 31st.

The prompts you submit can be as straightforward as one-word prompts like witches, vampires, ghosts, and cemeteries.

Or, you can send in short scenarios like: came back wrong, experiment gone wrong, bobbing for apples - for these more elaborate prompts, you may not see your exact wording on the prompt list we release, we usually gather similar prompts together under one heading. For example, if you sent in "science experiment gone wrong", it might appear simply as "mad science" or "weird science" on the calendar.

You can submit your prompt ideas to our Huxloween tumblr inbox, through the twitter account, and we're also on blue sky - personally, I think the tumblr inbox is the easiest to use since the message will stay there until we respond, it's an easy way for us to gather ideas.

With regards to the works you create, fic and all types of artwork are welcome. Any fic length is fine, all types of art and media are accepted (drawings, painting, fabric art, sculpture, lego, photography, video, mood boards, models, dolls, etc.)

The only exception is AI-generated art and writing - we won't reblog AI-generated art/writing.

This is an easy-breezy, laid-back event, post your fic or artwork whenever you get it done, there are no hard deadlines because we'll reblog everything no matter when you post. If you're posting on tumblr, make sure to use the @ so that we actually get notified and will see your work (sometimes just using the hashtag huxloween doesn't notify us and we don't want to miss anything).

I think it’s funny how in the Hux comic Hux is like “I’ll be less messy then Ren” then proceededs to cover the floor and walls in blaster marks because he was having a bit too much fun messing with brooks (very reasonable though)
