lately i’ve been replacing my “i’m sorry”s with “thank you”s, like instead of “sorry i’m late” i’ll say “thanks for waiting for me”, or instead of “sorry for being such a mess” i’ll say “thank you for loving me and caring about me unconditionally” and it’s not only shifted the way i think and feel about myself but also improved my relationships with others who now get to receive my gratitude instead of my negativity

I felt a tremendous distance between myself and everything real.

Today’s adventure find.. old film photos of the coast. I’m happy.
Stop worrying about your identity and concern yourself with the people you care about, ideas that matter to you, beliefs you can stand by, tickets you can run on. Intelligent humans make those choices with their brain and hearts and they make them alone. The world does not deliver meaning to you. You have to make it meaningful…and decide what you want and need and must do. It’s a tough, unimaginably lonely and complicated way to be in the world. But that’s the deal: you have to live; you can’t live by slogans, dead ideas, clichés, or national flags. Finding an identity is easy. It’s the easy way out.

Goodnight everyone! I hope you have a wonderful night filled with good dreams or a beautiful day, whatever that means to you, wherever you are in the world. ♡♡
Mental illness is strange. You could be going through an episode right in front of someone and it may be totally invisible. Derealization, for me, is kind of like that - one contant episode that no one notices. It’s both comforting and discerning how easily mental illness goes unnoticed. If you need help, this could be problematic. If you’re doing okay, it can be kind of nice - one less stressful thing about feeling crazy.
Are you really crazy if no one notices?
Our realities - how we perceive and experience the world - are so different from one another, all the time.
Does he know who you are? Does he laugh, just to know what he has? Does he know not to talk about your dad? Does he know when you’re sad? You don’t like to be touched, Let alone kissed. Does he know where your lips begin? Do you know who you are? Do you laugh, just to think what I lack? Do you know your lip shakes when you’re mad? And do you notice when you’re sad? You don’t like to be touched, Let alone kissed. Does his love make your head spin?
