Lewis McCartney is Demisexual and/or Demi-romantic. Hear me out;
The girl Lewis has a crush on (Cleo) is someone he has known for years snd it seems is the only girl he has ever liked. When asked if a crush will go away on its own, he says “not in my experience.” Having a long lasting, persisting crush, is a common experience among demisexuals, as we don’t often feel those kind of feelings or when we do, it’s for someone who is important to us/we see as special, rather than an attraction based on physical or surface level characteristics. I’m not saying non-demisexuals can’t experience a long lasting crush or have difficulty letting go of a crush, just that it’s common experience among demisexuals, and obviously an experience Lewis shares. Couple that with the fact that Lewis doesn’t seem to have ever liked another girl (until halfway through high school) and how long he has known Cleo, it points to him being demisexual.
Also, when first meeting Charolette, Lewis shows no particular interest in her. In fact, at one point, he tries to make it clear to her that they’re just friends. But then, halfway through season 2, after knowing Charlotte for a while (a few months?), he suddenly and without explanation, starts to like her and they end up dating. Why the sudden change? There is no specific moment or plot point where he suddenly develops feelings. It just seems to happen, as he gets to know her.
I therefore, am of the opinion that Lewis is demisexual.
