Korn To Release Original Song For Ubisoft's Haze(TM) Video Game
LONDON, UK - 22nd October, 2007 - Today, Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, announced that the multi-platinum selling, ground-breaking hard rock band Korn has written and recorded an original song inspired by Ubisoft's upcoming Haze video game. The song will be launched to radio and video in November 2007, to coincide with the launch of the Haze video game. The single, entitled "Haze", will be available for purchase via online music download sites.
Korn, who released their debut in 1994, has sold more than 30 million records worldwide, releasing seven consecutive multi-platinum selling albums. Their latest untitled album was released in July of this year, debuting at #2 on the US album charts and #3 on the European album charts. Lead singer Jonathan Davis has often mentioned a love for video games, including games from Ubisoft like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Vegas and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter® 2.
"Gaming for me is a religion and Haze is the shit!" said Jonathan Davis. "I had to come up with a track that can hit up that kind of rush I get from the game and I think we really rocked it!!"
The deal with Korn is a first for Ubisoft and marks a new strategy of creative partnership with different figures in the music industry. "This partnership with Korn is original in the video game industry in that the song will be released and promoted as a full-fledged single, and not just as a download with the video game," stated Christian Salomon, vice president of worldwide licensing at Ubisoft. "It is a testament to the synergy possibilities between music and video games, which often share the same audience."
With the release of our new show and the revamping of our Patreon, we've decided it's time to shutter the ol' tumblr to keep things simple and streamlined.
Thanks for following, and please find all our links on linktree!
Thank you for everything No More Whoppers on Tumblr! Nothing but the best luck on the new show!!
The first Shenmue is not just a simple game, but a monument of the era, a symbol of a creative genius who tried to break out of technology and digitize a real, vibrant, sensual world. The world where people are not just figurines, but individuals.
Perhaps, in their quest to get closer to reality, the developers have gone too far, forcing the player to run a lot, wait for the right hour for a long time and engage in a working routine. But the reward for patience and attentiveness was satisfying and emotional like the little sketches from the life of the city and its inhabitants.
One of the most pleasant things in the game was the relationship between the main character and his dear school friend, shy and gentle flower girl. And while he was too obsessed with his goal to catch the villain who took away his father’s life, even then he could see how the girl gently and carefully treats him.
The game’s plot gave a short time for their meetings, but the culmination of this unborn romance novel was one of the most beautiful love scenes in the history of video games, a high-speed trip together on a motorcycle along the night streets.
The original two Shenmue games on Dreamcast are still two of my all-time favorite games! I replayed them several years ago on their HD remasters, and I enjoyed them just as much. This write-up perfectly encapsulates the spirit on why Shenmue had made a lasting impression on me!
Masayuki Kato, the former president and founder of Nihon Falcom, one of the longest running RPG developers in the industry, just passed away on December 15th at the age of 78.
This is some really difficult news to process. Kato was seen as a polarizing figure among many Falcom fans. His conservative approach to business and outdated way of crediting creators led to many employees leaving the company in the 80s and beyond. But without him, many of these creators would have perhaps never gotten their start in the first place. He gave many developers their first job in the industry, people that would go on to change the landscape of video games as a whole. This includes:
Yoshio Kiya (creator of the Dragon Slayer series and pioneer of some of Japan’s first action RPGs).
Tadanobu Inoue (Early producer of the Atelier series at Gust).
Masaya Hashimoto (co-creator of Ys and co-founder of Quintet).
Tomoyoshi Miyazaki (scenario writer for Ys I-III , Artraiser, Terranigma, and many others).
Tetsuya Takahashi (creator of the Xeno franchise and co-founder of Monolith Soft).
Minako Iwasaki (character designer for the Rune Factory series).
Yuzo Koshiro (composer of Streets of Rage, Etrian Odyssey, and many other legendary soundtracks).
Ayano Koshiro (graphic artist on many titles ranging from Streets of Rage 2 to Lunar: The Silvar Star).
Tanaka Kunihiko (character designer for Xenogears).
Tenmon (composer for 5 Centimeters Per Second and many visual novels by Minori).
Makoto Shinkai (director of Your Name, Suzume, 5 Centimeters Per Second, and many others).
All of these creators got their start at Nihon Falcom and there are still many amazing people that remain at the studio. So while Masayuki Kato’s management can certainly be criticized, his company was also responsible for a lot of good. And I think it is telling that even creators that left Falcom, such as Yuzo Koshiro, have been offering their gratitude to Kato after hearing the news of his passing.
Rest in peace.
The CDi logo/ intro thing with the cd flipping into the logo is sick as hell.
It's extremely good!
Accurate!
You pay attention to Mega64 at all? I think it's cool that those guys are still doing their thing and never became insane toxic dipshits.
They make me want to take the three-ish hour drive out to Santee to sample the local restaurants.
I catch a livestream here and there, I'm glad that they're still out there making things happen. Always wished that we did more stuff with them whenever we were all in the same town for events and such.
Would love to see this happen!
Sega revealed the contents of the new update for Banana Rumble!
Big takeaways are the new Battle Mode, Gem Heist, the inclusion of the remaining SEGA pass content set to launch in two days, a bunch of improvement and here's the big one:
SUPER MONKEY BALL IS PARTNERING UP WITH DOLE AGAIN AFTER 22 YEARS! THERE WILL BE DOLE THEMED CONTENT COMING!
Can't wait for this!
YESSSS!! IT IS NOT A TRUE SUPER MONKEY BALL GAME WITHOUT DOLE BANANAS' PRODUCT PLACEMENT! TREMENDOUS NEWS!
that enthusiastic glover fan was me, sorry. my seventh birthday party was glover themed. i didn’t know any better.
I think that’s another thing that people underestimate a lot. Sometimes kids are seven and don’t know any better. I mean my kids aren’t even seven yet and today I caught them playing Sonic the Hedgehog. Sometimes they’d even sing “Seeegaaaa” while playing it. Disgusting. I feel like such a failure.
What do you think she was playing

I checked and Anne Hathaway is playing Gran Turismo. Driving right into a wall, but having a great time.
