I'm honestly not quite sure what I'm going to write this paper on. I'm still stumped and working on brainstorming.
This woman is a fashion architect. She works with different fashion health and the body to discover fashion of the future. She has developed a pill that you take which transforms your skin Into perfume, which has the potential to change a trend of human behavior. I thought this was cool because I am fascinated by the concept of human enhancement.
This is a technology that allows scientists to figure out how things look by measuring how the light hits a surface at varying angles. It then, in a matter of seconds, is computed into computer format. I think this is awesome because it lets archeologists get a better idea of the spaces their working with, especially underground. I this will help with understanding out past and present world a little better.
Although this is not an article, I think f.lux is a technology that improves our lives. F.lux is a software that adjusts the light on your computer to match that of the rest of the room. Thinking of embarking on a digital detox? Here are some helpful questions to ask about how we use technology to bind our anxiety.
This evening marks the start of the National Day of Unplugging- that is, attempting to rip ourselves away from the constant hum and flickering lights that are our phone, computer, or tablet screens. Although our devices are very useful in many ways, they also serve as the hugest distraction in our lives. We use our technology to ward off boredom and even loneliness or sadness. Rather than chase that constant stimulation, give yourself a chance to sit and feel and take interest in the world outside of the screen. Have a conversation with your loved ones. Experience some personal self growth. Either way, for the next 24 hours, give yourself a chance to power down.
What are the pros and cons of stimulant medication for ADHD? The literature shows that 70% of patients are helped by stimulant medications, yet despite this success rate there are many adverse points to be made about them. This article describes reasons why you might or might not give one of these medications a try. Ultimately, patients and their families must discuss a total treatment regimen with their physician.
Many people don;t understand how important medication is for those with disabilities. A medication is a form of health technology because it is otherwise unachievable without some recent advancement. Next time you think someone doesn't need medication, think again.
On Saturday, the New York Times' Alan Schwarz told us about the rising tide of teens and young adults who turn to stimulants -- specifically medications used to
I believe that many medications should be regulated the same way nicotine (and now marijuana) are. People should have to jump through hoops to get what they need.
Bitcoin is an industry that allows interweb trading while preserving anonymity. However, there has been an error in the coding. It is possible to hack into someone's bitwallet while they are making a payment, and force them to pay until their currency is depleted. On February 14th, a hacker stole $2.5 million from those buying illegal drugs on a blackmarket website called Silk Road. This can be prevented in the future by using more secure protection. Even so, millions of dollars have been stolen through Bitcoin, and for one of the most profitable businesses, it's a big deal.
Have you ever wondered if weather ever impacts a a persons spending? The comparison between money spent in diner versus a grocery store are as followed: during colder months, diners lose profit while grocery stores, in comparison, flourish. What does this mean for economy? It would appear that just about anything can have an impact on it, even human aversion to the cold.
