Could Cal do this? yes he actually could but- it took ALOT out of not just him but who he had a mutual bond with, Dylan, even if Cal tried his best to take the brunt of the energy.

Setting up the alter and the ritual area around his tree, the tree he infused his own demonic energy with as he started the process. And to say it was hard was not even touching it, it took every bit of energy he had plus some energy from his tree to do it and- Crack. he felt one of his hearts break, it slowly devolving from his body as he let out a low growl of pain. He knew this would happen... one heart for every member of the family, one life he could give back to them at the cost of the hearts- not like he even NEEDED the hearts, they were there for them, and Cal held onto them, kept them safe, as guardian of the family.

By the time the ritual was done, he knew it worked, the heart said so on its own but he was tried, not even having the energy to get up from where he was at the base of his tree. Panting for air he forgot he needed as he so carefully pulled energy from his bonded one, he needed to get up, he needed to move. Davis would need help out, he would need- Down he went again with a growl. Sorry Dill- he just needed a bit more energy.

And with that, he slowly set off, he had more work to do.

Indeed, family can be the most stressful thing, but you love and care for them anyways. Well it is a learning curve to get used to a body. Oh? That’s a first, you have your own body for once, that’s impressive, I must say, I am proud of you.

Oh well you can certainly try, I enjoy the mischief you get up to. It’s refreshing if I’m to be honest, it’s always rather calm here.

Good, we don’t quite want to see you get flung through the window with that newly acquired body after all.
