Scarlett watched Sam trace one of her permanent scars. It was a double-edged sword, the scar she was tracing. It wasn’t one she created herself, but it was still one that her mother had made. The brunette carefully grabbed the other woman’s hand to stop her from continuing to touch the faded mark that tainted her frail skin. “Sorry… It’s just… Out of all the scars on my body to trace, that’s the one you had to choose,” she teased slightly, trying to keep things uplifting. If Sam asked about the mark, the young woman would tell her the story behind it. She wasn’t ashamed of her whole past – just the murderous part. And even that she wasn’t ashamed of… She just didn’t want to go to prison if she confessed to the wrong person. “Wasn’t exactly the high point of my life,” she spoke in a light tone with a small smile.
“Are you sure? Samantha was still scared that she had touched it and it was wrong. It used to happen, but a long story. “Because I know how it feels- to get beat.” She said softly, almost a small whimper escaped her lips. She didn’t want Scarlett to feel bad or have pity for Sam. Right now it wasn’t about her. Gently she took her hand away after she touched it. “M-May I ask what happened? If not, that’s fine.” Of course she felt bad for the other in front of her but she didn’t want to seem like a big imposition over the large gash looking scar. Samantha stayed quiet for a moment, gazing at her fingers in her lap. Tears formed in the damaged girl’s eyes. “I’m sorry, Scar.” Did she deserve this? Either of them? No, no fucking way. Was there much to do about it now? Not really. It made them stronger.
Quickly rushing to zip up her jacket, she watched a bit as the teens ran off. What was their problem? Especially picking on pregnant peers. How did they know? A huff and exhausted sigh left her lips.
“Again, thanks.”
✶
“It’s cool. Don’t worry. Do you want to go outside for some air or something?”
Even though she didn’t know her, or anything, she figured she could at least offer.
Sam quickly shut her locker, shoving a box or cigarette in that coat pocket. Her gaze was at Olivia again.
"Sure, sure."
“Again, thanks.”
Her smile didn’t last long but there was still apart of it upon her lips.
“So what part did you have in the band?”
[ ą ]
“Hey, I’m an honest guy,” He smiled a little before speaking up again. “I was on guitar and backup vocals.”
She was hesitant to ask in case something happened but wanted to.
"Have you ever taught anyone how to play guitar before?"
“Fun?” She asked under her breath, though the question was mostly rhetorical. Samantha gazed at Ailen, unsure of what she wanted to do. Of course she suggested to go out so why shouldn’t she? A soft breath escaped her lips before getting off the bed. “Let’s go then…”
Although Sam suddenly did seem reluctant to go out despite offering the option up to do something with the rest of their evening; her agreement made Ailen smile. She didn’t leave the house an awful lot and she really needed a few more friends. “So where do you want to go? Take your pick.”
Sam needed friends but from the start Ailen was right, she kept pushing them away because of her horrible past. She had to live in the present but couldn't. It wasn't possible. "Just the bar down the streets fine." A light shrug was shown from her shoulders before strolling over to grab her jacket.
“Tha rough life,” he shrugged. “Been there more'n I care ta remember.”
"I can never forget it." She admitted softly "Its hard to trust as well as anything else."
“I go out when I can…” Besides working here at the B&B, her girlfriend didn’t really let her go out. The brunette shrugged lightly, attempting to smile at her offer. “That’d be lovely to do, I mean I’ll see what I can.” In a way she felt almost nervous to be staying so late, who knew what could’ve been waiting back at home.
“Yea? It can be good, but it’s awfully expensive to travel, or even just to go out of state.” Though she still had plans to go back home soon, if work didn’t keep her busy. “Well, you got a bit of a wait, the hammock wont go up until probably around the end of April, depending on the weather. Though I’m hoping this winter will fly by so I can get started on the garden.”
Samantha took a small drag from her cigarette before speaking again. Of course she was nervous to tell, she didn’t have many friends let alone people to trust. A soft sigh escaped her chapped lips. “That’s-that’s good.” The brunette gave a light nod. “Besides here I live with my girlfriend, she barely let’s me out.”
@damagedsurviivor Liked for a starter
“ Okay, but honestly? Don’t tell me you don’t purely love Valen- tine’s Day for the chocolate. Be- cause if you say no, you’re prob- ably lying.”
“If I had a pool of chocolate and a girl, then I’d be happier on Valentine’s day than any other I spent alone. I’m not lying one bit.” A small laugh escaped her lips, she wanted to spend it with someone who wouldn’t just break up with her or treat her like shit.
“Did you take anything? Why are you passing out? Hey! Stay with me!”

All Samantha could hear were those words- she couldn’t answer the questions but ahe heard them. The brunette was dumb- she overdosed on her anxiety pills and pretended like she was okay. It hadn’t happened before but she knew it was from those. A soft groan escaped her lips as she moved her head gently towards the woman. “Pills..”
“I don’t really have any family left. Mother passed, Father’s currently-well I hope- still in jail.” Samantha admitted. Of course she was sure, she just still wasn’t at the best stage to remember such a thing at the moment. “I don’t know where my sister is- after I left I wanted her to stay with me but she couldn’t.’
Jane cataloged all that away to research later and nodded her head. “Alright, Well how about I stay with you for a while longer today. Then I will make sure to come check on you tomorrow? Hobbies” She asked with a smile.
“Am I going to be staying here overnight?” Samantha asked softly but nodded at the offer. The brunette didn’t speak just yet, she focused on the quiet before doing so. “I want you to stay. That’d be fine..”
Sam still wasn’t used to him speaking though she looked less pale and less upset once they got to his loft. A small nod came from her head as she hear his question. Of course he was offering but she had to ask- “If- if It’s not too much trouble…”
GIVING her a little nod, he crossed the room to his record player, quietly choosing the right record with care, before setting it on the player and lowering the needle. The room filled with classical music, something soft and relaxing when the world had been too much. When Jason turned back to her, he offered out his hand to take her coat wordlessly. “Make yourself at home. It’s safe here.” Strange, considering how many women had died in this loft.
Samantha was still hesitant to do much around him, she tensed up a bit before taking off her coat to hand to him. As much as she tried to avoid doing so, she gave it to him and shoved her hands immediately in her pockets to hide any cuts or bruises upon the woman's porcelain skin. "T-thank you."
"Not really. You know I don't go out much.."
