Having already shared his soul with a plethora of people already, the young daimyo was hardly surprised when he felt another person at the opposite side; it was a distinct tug– sometimes a sharp tug when they wandered too far. Regardless, Date was adamant on greeting this one; after all, he would very much like to know at least one of people he was bound to before they suddenly vanished again. Despite his determination, he was having issues with finding said partner; sometimes when it felt like he was getting close, their gap would only increase– this was disheartening to say in the very least.
It wasn’t until intrusive thoughts filled his head did he realize that this must be his partner; he has heard briefly of some weird tele…pany? Teleponthy? Whatever! All he knew was that it was some kind of gift this place gave to people to share with their partner; unfortunately, he hadn’t a clue on how it worked, and the influx of thoughts from the other continued to pour in. Needless to say, as he began to conjure ways to respond to the other, his thoughts were unknowingly transmitted. ❛What the hell should I say? Hey soul pal, mind shutting the fuck up?❜ Furrowing his brows, he shook his head at the notion, ❛Nah… He’ll totally hate me if I say that!❜ Exhaling a soft sigh, he took another moment before being struck with all the right words. ❛I’ve got it!!❜
Now… All that was left was to figure out how to get his thoughts… words… message across to the other; all for experimenting with the odd ability, he only mused that there was only one way to find out. After all, there was no hard in trying every method in the book; the first way that appeared in his mind could very well make him seem blatantly strange, but it mattered not. Inhaling, he collected as much air in his lungs before loudly thinking and shouting, ❝ HEY, SOUL PAL ! ! CAN YOU HEAR ME?! I’VE BEEN HEARING YOUR BULLSHIT ALL DAY ! ! NEED A HAND OR SOMETHING!? ❞
Alright, so maybe this wasn’t his brightest idea. He had scrapes all over his hands by now, his socks were starting to tear too. Did that mean he would stop, though? Definitely not. Putting a solid hand on the tree again, he’d reach around and try to get a grip before attempting to climb. Slow progress, patience, he reminded himself. If he could just make it to the lowest branch, he’d be fine. And fuck the people staring at him, what, was there some rule against tree climbing?
He was so very close, so incredible close! The branch was almost in reach, he was probably a little over ten feet off the ground. The tree’s width had proven to be quite the annoyance. A triumphant smile’d make it’s way onto his face until —
— THUMP
That definitely hurt. Quite a lot. It took him a moment to recollect his thoughts, having fallen to the shock of a shout. He’d expected it to be directed at him, but apparently from what he heard it was just some loon. Though, he’d been so close! It pissed him off, and shit if he didn’t act on impulse. Standing up, hues were immediately searching for this guy— this asshole. He intended to give him quite a handful of his anger. The thoughts slipped him, “Who the fuck just yelled,” and “I’m gonna find this dickhole, real fast and give him a piece of my mind.” Which, quite literally, he already was.
