“Hey mister!” Maybe he hadn’t heard her the first time, but well... he does seem to be in a bit of a predicament. Kay’s had some experience getting stuck in vending machines, but she’s never seen an adult do it. She’s curious-- what kind of person is he, anyway?

"Are you good? How’d you even end up like this?” His arm’s really in there, huh? Was he trying to steal? If that’s the case, she can probably help him out, but...

“I can help you out for five dollars.”

New Partner | Narihisago and Date

Narihisago was actually taken off guard by something Scepter 4 had told him for once. Most of the time, he had free reign while Scepter 4 members trailed behind or hung around somewhere to keep an eye on him, simply because they didn’t trust him just yet.

He hadn’t foreseen actually being assigned a specific clansman to work with. Or perhaps work with wasn’t the proper way to word it. More like he had been assigned a handler.

He continued his usual patrol of an area that had sightings of possible strain activity, except he was accompanied by a tall blond man at his side. He was told the man’s name was Kaname Date, but that’s all that he was told. Since he was going to be with him for a while, he might as well get to know him.

But Narihisago had grown unused to communication and wasn’t sure where to start trying to get to know someone, especially since he already knew his name, and he assumed Date knew his, along with some of his sordid past that led him to Scepter 4′s doorstep.

Finally, he settled on a question. “Have you been working for Scepter 4 long? I don’t think I’ve seen you before now.”

Now, the goose has been around as an intern in the agency. It's doing his job very well, whatever its position even is. But, every employee knows that the key to success is team building, so it better socialize with its colleagues, yeah? There's one it didn't say hello yet; working on something at their desk, all too lonely. Might as well greet them by— Ah...their shoes don't have a shoelace. But they do have paperwork on their desk the goose can help with—! Might as well start working on one. Or two. Or three. Or...severals.

‘Excuse me, sir, are you a detective?’ Angus looks up at the man, practically stars in his eyes. ‘I can tell, since I’m one too! It’s very nice to meet you!’

Lucretia walks up behind him with a sigh and a soft smile, putting a hand on her hip.

“Your detective senses are tingling, huh? And how much of that has to do with this badge you found on the ground back there, Angus?” She holds up the badge case with a raised eyebrow, and Angus scratches the back of his head sheepishly.

‘That was my first clue, Madam Director.’

“Right,” she chuckles, offering the badge forward to Date with a smile.

“I’m assuming this is yours, given the photo. We picked it up on the trail back there, and thought you might like to have it back.”

“I’m sorry, what?” Though it’s in his nature to be polite, and he has found confidence a little easier since he was gifted a mask, he’s still a bit taken aback by this person’s conversation starter.

Is he.... hitting on him?

“I must admit I’m flattered, but I didn’t really come here in the market for a date,” he says with a raised eyebrow. Normally he wouldn’t even entertain such a thing, but he’s been in a good mood all night. Why not?

“I don’t even know your name, Mister....?”

Kay’s nearly out of spell slots. Damn it, even with her powers uncapped she’s still limited! This is so unfair. At this point she’s down to hitting things with her staff-- hand to hand combat was never her specialty, but she’s making do. It’s tough clearing through all of them on her own, but her ears prick up at a loud *bang* nearby.

Wait, who is that? And what kind of weapon are they using?

“Hey, Mr. Date, right??” They’d met a few times, but she’s not sure what he’s doing here. She yells over the fighting, making her way over to him. “You might want to get out of here! This place is crawling with monsters, and um, to be honest?” Her gaze drifts to the lightning flashing green on the horizon.

“I've got a bad feeling about what’s coming with them.”
