HIHIHI YOUR ART IS VERY PEAK I JUST HAVE ONE BURNING QUESTION- Do you have any tips on how to stay motivated to draw?? Because lately just scrolling through other people's wonderful art is starting to deteriorate my motivation and crumble me from within and it's very frustrating. On one hand, I do believe this is a personal jealousy and/or envy problem (been trying to solve it or at least wear it down for a while, but it's a whole other can of worms) But like with art block and everything piled up onto eachother hahaha Im in quite the predicament where I cant really afford to take a break from art yk I have a LOT of due projects.. Not sure if you've ever faced a similar problem to mine. (I hope youve never had to) art envy is just a thing thats making it gradually harder to even like what I draw. God, this ask is just so wierdly worded and phrased like um please ignore this or whatever if you find me uncomfortable 😭😭

You pretty much pin pointed the issues if im honest.

Envy can kill one's motivation & turn something loved into a task where nothing is good enough because someone else is "better" + the lots of projects probably tire your creativity up & is stressing you out. Stress is never a good thing in the creative process nor health wise, so be careful about that.

The things that motivate me are probably not helpful for you because I usually go over others' art (both real-life paintings & fan art). I've been reading more books (& multiple fics) and I've been trying to watch more movies that are considered good cinema. More often than not, I get inspired by the simple passion others hold for their creations.

The way I see things is less about competition about "who is better?" & more so curiosity. Seeing what others do is one thing I adore doing because we are all so diverse yet can be connected by simple things & it makes me intrigued to know their art process. Change the "man — I wish I could do that /envious" to "How they do that? /Curious"

What i've done to fight the art block?... Hm— If anything, I've been drawing more for myself. A personal diary almost. Maybe you could try that? Make art of you/for yourself, a notebook or something that is only for you. Maybe even draw yourself being frustrated by your art block, poses, outfits, random faces, etc. Something that can allow you to do "bad" art. Draw with a pen/Markers so you can't erase what you made and you just take what you have or what you do, don't focus on making it look good, just focus on letting your hand loose— like stretching before a big exercise.

But also— Rest. Your hand is clearly not in your favor right now & sometimes we have to listen, try to do what is easier for your hand right now. Yes, we want things to look far from our expectations, but we also need things to match your skill. Accommodate the two.

hello! my names chimera. im disabled and recently my laptop fully broke

besides being an artist and a writer, having a laptop is one of my only safe to use communication boxes for the internet because using my phone worsens my carpal tunnel and general wrist pain

even with breaks, medication, stretches, physical therapy, etc nothing works to worsen the pain. and its getting worse by the minute every time i use my phone. i had to section this post up in two days because of how bad it got

id like to get this before the new year, again the phone usage has made my wrist pain the worst it has been and there is no other viable option for me (VTT is a hassle for more than its worth..)

I don’t wanna go so far as to say it’s to drum up hype for the new chapter… but maybe a little encouragement as I try to finish this chapter that’s been very difficult to write.

Im not liking the way anti-harrasment is being turn into a proship vs antiship thing. Because no, not how it works.

They can connect but they are not synonymous because "harrasment" doesn't revolve around shipping discourse. You are aware or not, by trying to put this definitions as antonyms you are encaging the word harrasment to only shipping & that's fucked up. Harrasment doesn't only come because someone is a proshipper. People get harrassed for being proshippers, i agree, I've seen it happen, proshippers have been harrassed to the point of doxxing (which is fucking insane /neg). However i've also see people being harrased for gender, sexuality, skin color, neurodivergency, ethnicity, looks, etc. Things that proshipping has nothing to do with, because proshipping by original definition is "ship & let ship"; something that basically means " let me play with my barbie dolls however i want & you play with your barbie dolls however you want."

Undestanding that, harrasment can come by literally everything & anything, the way this term of "anti-harrasment" is being build upon is not fair. "Proshippers are the only ones that suffer harrasment, so let's call it anti-harrasment" you know?? like... it feels wrong, dismissive in a way... Like it's trying to make itself sound so serious while ignoring that harrasment isn't exclusive to shipping discourses, yet making the term exclusive to shipping discourse?????

It's being put on a pedestal where proship is the only victims of harrasment, ignoring how people from proshipping circles can & have the same capability of harrasing anyone... Is unfair & it screams "I am the good person & the others are evil" (something i can also acknowledge that anti-shippers do the same & it annoys me horribly.)

I want freedom of media but i will still have my personal preferences & critical eye of what im consuming & what it might meant on a deeper level & hell, i can be wrong & be clicking a bullet to my own foot because im not all knowing & my critics are obvious biases to the specific knowledge i have. I like seeing both sides & deciding where I'll stand depending on what we are criticizing. So im not taking a stand here, because i personally don't care enough about shipping, where i have to be this or that. This argument is not an antonym.

Tigers can't purr.

Instead, they will close/squint their eyes to show safety/comfort. Atsushi does have his eyes closed in this, so that's cute.

Tigers CAN Chuff, which is a much stronger equivalent to purring. I cannot find research on different species vocal cords strengths, but Tiger's have much tougher vocal cords than cats. If human have somewhere inbetween, which is likely as we cannot handle roars on a regular basis, then theoretically so long as he's in human or primarily human form, Atsushi is possibly able to purr.
