Bones looks at the curly blonde head in his lap and grins. He lets a hand wander down to brush over soft strands. The normally tight curls are erratic and wild. A mix of bed head and the aftermath of last night’s activities. There is no sign of waking, and his grin slides down into a smirk. He wonders how long the other will stay asleep, if he’ll be able to still be there when he wakes. 

Slowly, as not to disturb the sleeper too much, he reaches and grabs his com and send a message out to his best friend. 

Hey, remember that 14 year old I met 5 years ago who I said I would bang 5 years from then?

The response is quick, as he’d expected. Jim is on duty for the next 12 hours and his hyperactivity usually keeps him from missing a single message.

He replies simply, hopes the smugness reads through the text.
