the older I get the more I understand why I get so upset at certain family members....

and that "but that's your family" bullshit be the exact reason why it upsets me even more certain people, "family", thinks the bullshit they do towards other family members is acceptable!

I'm learning that my emotional well-being is very important, so important that I come first before anyone and anything and that includes "family"

It's making more and more sense why some distance themselves from family. those people distancing themselves aren't always the bad seeds others haves labeled them as... a lot of them saw the same bullshit everyone else sees and decided to put themselves before family, the same family that didn't mind walking over them

Studies show that black women with natural styles such as fros,locs, braids etc are perceived as less professional than their straight haired counterparts.

Still ridiculous and I hope the crown act passes everywhere. One shouldn’t feel the need to straighten their hair for an interview or for every single important event. Straight hair is fun and awesome but the keyword here is “need” versus a non biased preference.

Is it weird that sometimes you don't realize you were depressed until you are finally coming out of your depression?

I have had more energy than ever these past few days. Instead of staying in bed and sleeping in on my days off, I have been getting up, being proactive, and moving around so much more. I just finished mopping my whole front room/kitchen, washing dishes, cleaning out refrigerator, washing rugs, and even job hunting... I DID THIS ALL TODAY!!

Due to my health situation, it's been rare having this much energy and even having positive thoughts. I want and need more days and moments like this... now I fell like getting cute and stepping outside lol
