My First Week at Mountview Academy
So I've just finished my first week at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and it has been INCREDIBLE. I've somehow been lucky enough to get streamed into the upper classes for jazz, ballet and tap and the dance lessons have been amazing. My ballet teacher is currently in Miss Saigon, my tap teacher was in Tap Dogs and my jazz teacher has been in 22 musicals including Chicago. How lucky are we?! I've had group singing, singing technique, singing repertoire, voice and speech, text, improvisation, ballet, tap and jazz classes alongside the heaps of information about the year that we've been given. This is such a huge change for me - no longer getting up in the morning and dreading heading into uni to do my Physics degree. Every morning I wake up excited, thrilled and grateful that I'm here! Our first acting through song class this week felt like a revelation for me. I got to perform my JRB song from the Last Five Years, 'If I Didn't Believe In You' - and together we broke the song down to it's core meaning and looked at almost every line to find clues as to how I should approach it. I went from selfishly trying to show the audience how I thought they should feel through my acting to being true and real to the character and situation, and letting the audience feel what they should feel themselves. It's completely changed the way that I go about looking at how I am going to approach a performance piece. It's been such a pleasure getting to meet, work with, and get to know the rest of the incredibly talented PGMTs. I feel like I've known them for months - not days! Can't wait for the weekend to be over so that I can get back to it Monday morning. Here's to the rest of the year!
First day complete! A morning of dance streaming of ballet, jazz and tap, an afternoon of music performance and admin. This is literally the best place ever.
I have a London House! Less than a month until Mountview ahh!

This is a list of the sheet music I currently have, organized by musical. They are not all uploaded, this is just a list. If you want one that doesn’t have a link yet, message me and I’ll add the link, but for now I don’t want to spend all that time scanning the pages if no one needs them.
