one of the hardest things to learn as a depressed former Gifted Kid™ is that half-assed is better than nothing. take the 50%, 40%, even 20% job. scrubbing your face is better than not taking a shower at all. picking up your clothes is better than never cleaning. nibbling on some bread is better than starving.
DO THINGS HALFWAY. NOW YOU’RE 100% BETTER OFF THAN YOU WERE BEFORE.
One of my college professors used to say “anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.” I didn’t understand that for years because I didn’t do anything poorly, I couldn’t do anything poorly, I had to Do Everything Perfectly.
But brushing your teeth for 30 seconds is better than not brushing them at all when that 2 minutes seems exhausting. Doing ten minutes of yoga is better than 10 minutes of sitting when 30 minutes of cardio sounds impossible. Changing my clothes is good when a whole shower is impossible. Standing on the porch for a few minutes is worth it after being in the house for three straight days because I don’t have the energy to go anywhere.
Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly… because doing it poorly is better than not doing it.
someone please hit me over the head with this post every day for like the next week thanks. a mention, a reblog with text, a message, something.
You must understand that perfectionism isn’t striving for excellence, it’s a crippling fear of being flawed and therefore worth abandonment or punishment. It’s a kind of psychological avoidance. You’re avoiding fear and failure , not embracing the thing you want to do bc if it was about the thing you want to do you’d be fine with partial victory.

Wait are iPhone bros coping because Apple has to be more universal? Lol.
Boo hoo i'll be able to add more physical storage to my phone and be able to change out batteries if they degrade as well as all these other optional features I won't have to touch
Continuing in the trend of political cartoons depicting milquetoast moderate positions seem so much cooler and more badass than they are
I love how they add totally absurd things no one is asking for to make the idea look crazy. And still, I must emphasize, failing to make this look like a bad idea.
"Is this what you want? Is this ugly stupid bullcrap what you want??" the biggest loudest idiot in the room asks, holding up a picture of the hottest looking shit I've ever seen

Hey, open this window 'cause I'm going out
Hello 👋 I'm going to be visiting the Portland Maine area with friends this year and I trust your opinion, do you have any recommendations for places to go to? Other than that sexual squirrel of course
yesss...you have come to the right place!
food: tandem has my favorite breakfast sandwich everrr; breakfast at hot suppa is also good, also sinful kitchen (not as immediately in the peninsula though); love cera for sandwiches; both high roller and duck fat are kinda The Tourist Places but, i think for good enough reason, they're both good lol; also green elephant is great for any vegetarians/vegans in your life (they have these fried king oyster mushrooms that are craaazy...); and then depending on if you're able to travel off the peninsula, red's in south portland has suuuch good ice cream for such a good price (if you cant - there's two gelato places that are good. also yuri's desserts is yum (also yay yuri mention))
drinks: there are truly Many places to get fun drinks but uncharted (boba tea; i usually do the atlantis or the leviathan), matcha mood (genuinely Haven't had drink from them that wasn't yummy delicious), and speckled axe come to mind (i like their maple flavoring for their coffee...yum)
books and other shopping: have to shout out my favorite place the green hand (used book store, people there are sooo nice), but some others are longfellow books, back cove books, coast city comics, electric buddhas...again if you can travel outside the peninsula, you could also check out bullmoose in south portland (but they're a regional chain, not a portland exclusive). also there's a newer magazine shop named bold...a little expensive but i do genuinely think the person that runs it does a good job w picking interesting things to stock. there's also plenty of thrift stores: little ghost, weekend vintage, etc...
and then for just places to visit, there's the eastern promenade (nice outdoor space), peak's island (can take a $8 ferry and walk or golf cart around), and also the old port (this is The Tourist Section...and also where the sexiest squirrel is lol. wear good shoes, the cobblestones are kinda treacherous) and then for actual beaches, i'd probably do willard beach in south portland (if the weather's nice hehe) :-)
I never got to post this here, but happy pride <33
sorry i really don’t like just reposting someone else’s joke but i haven’t been able to stop thinking about Yucky Stinking Tooth for weeks
