"You're lonely! I can see it in your eyes." (~my-coin-operated-boy)
“Have you ever encountered a predatory, wild animal, Kevin? How, looking into its eyes, you might see kindness, hopefulness, perhaps something friendly and playful… It’s simply a reflection, a projection of one’s self reflecting back. It’s not my eyes you’re seeing loneliness, Kevin.”
“Beloved?” Kevin smirked, “I’m not sure about beloved, but the part about that devilishly handsome and amazing radio host sounds fairly accurate,” he teased, putting his hands in his pockets, “As for that diner, that sounds like a good idea! I haven’t seen it yet, so it must be very new indeed. It would be a pleasure to try it out with you,”
He’s never been used to personal socializing, funnily enough, or at least, not in a way where he and whoever he was having a conversation were playing a game of words. So when Kevin continues to snap back witty comments, Dan just doesn’t know how to rebuttal.
“A pleasure to try it out with me, you say? And here I thought I wasn’t beloved, according to you.” Dan turns slightly, tilting his head in the direction of the diner, “It’s this way; hope you don’t mind walking.”
