These are so lovely!
finished my thesis, and now I have time to finish the illustration of Merlin
really love the interactions between these two idiots

How Germany is looking right now (and i much prefer it over the 40°C we had before)
I see a lot of nobles out here who think "Well I have a 10,000 square foot castle, surely that's enough space for a knight." WRONG. Knights are WORKING BREEDS, they need to go on regular quests to prove their fealty and come home horribly wounded. I have seen SO MANY adopted knights DESPONDENT because their liege keeps them cooped up in a castle and won't let them go on quests. If you want an armored warrior who will be happy in your castle you need to get a castellan. They're closely related to the knight breed but adapted to the castle environment.
Arthur making the knights go on hunts in peaceful times so they have enough enrichment
no meaning, no story, no background, just dadneto and sonsilver with turtlenecksš«
had these two pics in my folders standing next to each other and they were bugging me for months ā
So gentleā+.* AUGH they deserved so much better</3
Also it's a bit less blurry if you open the images!
You are so precious to me, my son.
missing cherik scene from xmfc
Finally got a graphics tablet and I LOVE it. No more drawing with a mouse. So I decided to deepen my obsession with BBC Merlin. I imagine this is Arthur mid-battle after someone threatens his manservant š
crossfaded somewhere between "there has to be more to life than this" and "every mundane thing is beautiful when you're with people you love"

I love this so much!!
Merlin BBC Merlin they could never make me form a solid opinion about you !!! Worldās bravest coward. The most loyal traitor. The most honest liar. The gentlest murderer. Destroys everything trying to avoid destruction. What a guy !!!!!!!
Something about Merlin being allegorical to the concept of the āperfect queer personā. A queer person who allies themselves with their oppressors, hides their identity, and does as theyāre told. Someone who never allows themselves the things they desire most and always puts the goals of their oppressors over the community they would be readily accepted by. Someone who would go so far as to betray the rest of their community to avoid disrupting the status quo, despite knowing theyāll never be truly accepted, loved or respected. At first it was out of survival, but eventually itās out of habit, because this is how they learn to live.
āMagic will never have a place in Camelotā was the single line that forever condemned Merlin and every magic user to a lifetime of suffering, and the judge jury and executioner was the boy who was supposed to be their saviour, who forgot how to want to be free.
so, arthur is extremely proud. as far as his character traits go, this is a pretty fundamental one. humiliation is one of his biggest fears, and the angriest he gets is when heās been made to look like a fool (whether it be because he trusted someone who betrayed him, or if itās suggested that he do something he thinks would be seen as cowardly, etc.). he hates the feeling of being embarrassed. probably the first instance we see of him being genuinely angry is in valiant (s1e2) when the witness dies before the whole snake shield thing can be confirmed and heās accused of being scared to fight valiant so he yells at merlin for humiliating him, blahblahblah.
ten fucking minutes later though, LITERALLY the next episode, when merlin is in danger from the mortƦus poison, uther has arthur imprisoned and instead of being concerned about the optics of being in a cell, arthur fucking pendragon not only begs for merlinās life, he offers himself up to be put in the stocks for āa week, a month even, i donāt care.ā he literally SAYS āiām begging you.ā pleading like that is already so against his nature, but volunteering himself for the most public possible humiliation to save a man heās known for what, a week? iām sick. he loved him that much already.
"He is half of my soul as the poets say"
Hope for the future (king)
bold words for a man who has been killing people for eleven episodes straight
