If you can scare him up, you’ll find no teacher more skilled, but you’ll also not find one who is more prickly, egotistical, or tactless.” She speaks with none of the pride that frequently attends the words of mothers on the subject of their children. Nothing if not matter-of-fact. “If it is credentials that you require, he was arch-mage at Summerset for some time. I should not bring that up with him, if I were you.”

He blinks once, “Prickly, egotistical and tactless. That is familiar enough,” The lack of pride in her tone he notes, but it does not cause any surprise. “Arch-mage, hm? Interesting. I will remember that, should I find him.”

“It was for a few years only. There was trouble. You’ll probably figure it out if you find him, but as I said, I shouldn’t come right out and ask.” She raises her eyebrows. “His feathers are easily ruffled.”

"Well, now. Wouldn't want to ruffle anyone's feathers, certainly," Is it sarcasm? Perhaps, perhaps not. His tone is flat, "Regardless of whether he is an Arch-mage now or not, the fact that he once was is good- far better than I expected, at least."

Something about this strikes Abaddon as funny, and he holds himself back from laughing, his lips giving a slight quirk.

“Ah, employment. Something that I have only recently acquired.” In a way, anyway. No one was paying him, but he was doing work for someone else at the moment. “What do you do?”

His eyebrow cocks a little, and he refrains from a more interested expression, “I am a dancer, Abaddon. I dance. I sing, as well- sometimes.”

“Oh, a dancer?” How unexpected. The amusement of this encounter just doubled. “I’ve never really been one for singing, but dancing I have to say I like.” A half-truth. He disliked singing alright, but dancing he was indifferent towards. He’d done it a few times to catch a victims attention, but it wasn’t something he did for fun. 

“Have you been long at this line of work?”

He nods shortly,  acknowledging the information, "No. I am still rather new to it."

/Noticing this, she attempts at a more reassuring expression./ Ah, yes… I… I take it you haven’t been to Windhelm yet? /Her lips twitch into a smile, but just barely./ You don’t look worn down enough.

That is, incidentally, where I first ended up. I would not advise spending your free time there. /She rolls her eyes./ Originally it was meant to be a stop, but the Nords do not let you leave so easily.

“I expect that you shall, eventually.” Her face betrays nothing. “I have not met many Conjurors in this place, and the college at Winterhold is fearfully under-equipped for that school—though that is hardly surprising, given their generalized attitude. Focusing more on not scaring the locals than on accomplishing useful research outside their own walls. Foolish. In any case, it is a useful area of study.  My son is a Conjuration mage, though, so perhaps I am biased.”

There is a short questioning look for that comment, but he wipes it from his face before answering, “The College is.. under-equipped at best, for certain. As for the generalized attitude-” He just shakes his head, “I agree,” The corner of his mouth twitches, just slightly, “Really? I don’t suppose he’s somewhere in Skyrim, and inclined to teach?” Curiosity, again.
