“Thanks” said Celeste, taking a sip of her drink and mulling over the night’s events. “Where do I start?” she said. “They put me on the evening shift, so of course I got all the old men who drink early and go to bed well before midnight.” She didn’t mind the old part. What she did mind is they didn’t tip nearly as well and demanded more of her attention. “Then someone spilled their drink on the stage and I nearly knocked myself out slipping in it.” The memory made her wince. “Thankfully, I had these to change into.” She gestured to her sneakers, which she wore whenever she wasn’t dressed for a performance. “How about you? What have you been up to this evening?”

She had at least one a night, every night of the week. “But if you still want a private show, I can make that happen as soon as I finish here.”

She smiled at the blonde. “That would be great. If you buy the first round, I’ll let you vent about how bad today has been.”

Time, as he’s concluded, was just as elusive as dreams were. Well, to him anyways- he couldn’t speak for anyone else but himself. The last time he checked the time it’d only been noon. A soft sigh left him as he leaned back in his chair. The heels of his palms were pressed against his eyes; just to help relieve some of the tension. When he went to drop them he saw that someone had entered the premise. “Afternoon,” Silas said without thought. It was habit by now- not that it was a bad thing. 

Celeste had just come off the stage at Crimson Lights. Her feet hurt, as they usually did after she was done dancing. Having slipped into a pair of sneakers with her stage ‘outfit’ she was considering calling it an early night when she saw Silas behind the desk. She flashed him a friendly, if tired, smile and say “How’s it going today?” She walked up to the reception desk  and leaned against it. “You look as tired as I feel.”
