Because Loid was legit like: alright I wanna make my pretend daughter happy in this fake pretend family, so I'll rent a fucking castle and ask every single fucking agent to stop what they're doing so my daughter can be a princess, who I don't have any attachment to at all btw. first of all, that isn’t right era for this year’s theme. bridgerton is set during the regency era, which is from 1811-1820 (roughly)

the gilded era, which is the inspiration for this year’s theme, is from around 1870-1900

if you’re gonna complain about the celebs not following the theme, at least be historically accurate about it 😂
