“Honestly, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Whoever thought of mashing up vegetables deserves a handshake. Have you tried this? It’s amazing.”
“Just... vegetables in general? I mean, potatoes, hell yeah. Peas even, sure. But like vegetables... Fuckin’ broccoli, celery, eggplant? That shit would be gross.”

leon-hastings:
“Nana Gemma would be so heartbroken if that were the case,“ Leon feigned a look of heartache before grinning, the dog’s owner was so old she probably would prefer it that someone else has taken a liking to her companion. Still, the dog needed to come home though and so they continued to follow it.
The corgi named Sir Ronald walked through the mostly empty streets of Ashbourne, a dog on a mission, it made a few stops in between like a hyrdrant, a snack stand, colorful flowers until it finally stopped at the park where it disappeared behind some bushes that led straight to a forest.
“Oh shit, we better run after it, Sir Ronald! Here boy!” he called out, fearful that it might get attacked in the woods.
“Nana Gemma should look after her dog more closely,” Astrid said, watching the canine with it’s short little legs as he walked. Its little tail swayed back and forth as it continued on with a regal carelessness that left her with a smile. They walked on, the animal blissfully ignorant of their presence, and wondered how hard it would really be to snatch it up in one fast movement -- though it would have been a lie for the woman to say she wasn’t enjoying this stint as a pet detective.
They walked on, through town, and Astrid took the time to observe what about the town had changed since she had last been there, noting the little shops that had popped up here and there, and the others that were still going strong since her childhood. They made it to the park, where the small pet mozied on straight towards the forest.
“What kind of pretentious fuck names their dog Sir Ronald,” Astrid mumbled under her breath as they started into a run, crashing through the foliage and into the cover of the forest. The woman whistled, calling to the dog as she looked around for its little body.
tripfindlay:
Trip crunched happily on the peanuts, wondering briefly what sort of saturated fat his body was rejoicing in being treated with. A job was a job, his own employment now came in the form of setting up kids with rented clown shoes at the bowling alley– followed with the glamorous act of spraying fungicide into them at the end of the evening. Over his shoulder, he glanced at the women that clung to the poles, snickering lowly. “Yeah, but I bet your tips don’t come to you nearly as sweaty or crumpled.”
The drummer glanced at the specials on the wall behind her before lifting a shoulder. “Shot of fireball, I guess.” He couldn’t afford much at Pandemonium, the inflated prices had him wondering when it was that he could slip away, freeing the can of beer in his backpack to shot gun for a buzz later. “I thought you left town.” Anyone who had prospects had, which meant that all that remained were the stuck or the hopeless. Often, Trip wondered what category he belonged to.
Astrid’s eyes slid past Trip to watch the women on the stage as well, her gaze lingering on their languid forms for a moment before she laughed, nodding, “Well thats true,” Astrid agreed pushing herself up, and bouncing restlessly to the beat of the music, “Not a bad view though, I get paid and a free show,” The smile rested on her features as she looked at him, trying to figure out which of the tattoos she could see were added since the last time she saw him -- quite a few.
Astrid tapped her fingers against the counter as he looked up at the specials, chewing on the inside of her lip as she glanced down the bar to gage the other patrons that found solace at the club, they all seemed relatively satisfied for the moment, so she turned back to her old friend as he gave his order. “Alrighty,” She said, pushing away from the counter to grab the bottle and a shot glass. She spoke as she moved, coming back to set the glass before him as she quickly poured the cinnamon whiskey. “I did,” she answered, setting the bottle down beside in case he wanted another, “But this fucking town... Something about it pulled me back. So here I am. What about you? What have you been up to?”
tripfindlay:
Trip’s outfit was something that made at least three of the patrons wheel around, shaking their head. His shirt looked like he’d tugged it out from the jaws of the proverbial cat, and it hung on his lanky frame in shreds. He made his way to the bar; a crumpled twenty was in his pocket and the stamp that indicated he’d paid the three dollar dues at the door was barely visible in the sea of ink on his pale flesh.
Astrid’s words made his chin lift, settling onto a stool before he responded. “Does the cat get free sugar?” Trip grinned, plucking a handful of peanuts from the bowl to pop into his mouth. “How’s business, Astrid?”
Astrid leaned forward onto the bar, brown eyes raking over the man who had just taken a seat. A smirk tugged at her lips, noting that little had changed about her high school friend, save for the addition of the new tattoos that covered his skin. It had been years since she last saw him, and yet she could remember skipping classes and passing a cigarette back and forth as they listened to his music in the back parking lot.
Settling her chin in her palm, Astrid gave a shrug to answer his question, “A job’s a job,” She said simply, “Though I have noticed the skimpier my skirt, the better the tips. Still not as much as those lucky ladies though.” The witch nodded towards the stage before turning her gaze back to Trip.
“So what can I get you, big boy?”
The bar had been alive the night before. Drinks flowed like the River Styx, laughter and music, costumes and conversation. It had been quite the party, and more so than anything Astrid was excited about the tips she had secured -- that combined with her last pay check was enough to finally get a place of her own. A closet. But still a place of her own.
So, despite the fatigue that was pulling at her, Astrid was in an unusually happy mood. Hearing the stool scrape against the wood floor, the witch called out her hips swaying to the beat as she finished organizing the bottles, “Uno momento por favor!” Finishing up, Astrid turned, a smile breaking over her features at the face that greeted her, “Well well, look what the cat dragged in.”

leon-hastings:
“Another friend, or maybe it’s visiting a cousin,“ he insisted, preferring to use that instead of calling the dog’s other owner as a side hoe. Cats were often guilty of that, playing up their charms for several owners and even Leon had been a victim of feeding the neighborhood cats after being allowed a few belly rubs and pats. He smiled thoughtfully though at Astrid’s remark, nodding as the dog continued on its merry little way. “They’re the best,” he concurred.
Astrid looked over when Leon suggested kinder alternatives to the theory she had offered, the corner of her lips curving into an amused smirk. “I just hope his main girl doesn’t mind,” the witch said, watching the dog as it sniffed around a tree. “Where is the loyalty... Is no one faithful these days?” She said it in jest, glancing back at Leon. The dog must grew tired of the tree and began to walk on, almost prancing down the street, and Dom tapped the man on the arm, “He’s on the move,” before following along behind him once again.
leon-hastings:
“We follow it and see where it’s going,“ Leon said in a matter-of-fact tone, “Maybe it has a girlfriend here, or a boyfriend or another owner, we’ll see.” Leon slowed down a bit, sympathetic to the plight of the short people since nature forgot to bestow upon him the gift of stature that his siblings possessed. Maybe Spencer would be just as tall as he was if he had been alive, who knows. The dog stopped at mailbox, sniffed it and took a piss and somehow the werewolf found it adorable that the corgi’s tiny legs managed itself
Astrid couldn’t help the smile that came to her lips at his response. It was like a mission almost, and the woman found it entertaining that they were following a corgi around as it seemed to not have a care in the world. She often thought that the lives of animals were better than that of complicated, and messy human lives. “Ah,” she breathed, looking over to Leon, “We’re gunna see if it has a side hoe.” Leon slowed down, and the act of subtle kindness did not go unnoticed by Astrid. It was often that she was walking twice as fast to keep up with others, having always been the runt of the litter. The dog stopped and they did too, hanging back to watch it relieve itself. “Cute little guy, isn’t he?”
leon-hastings:
“No wait wait wait, don’t run so fast, we gotta play it cool,“ he told her as Leon grabbed Astrid by the arm to pull her back, “it might sense us, you know, following it.“ Despite his warning, his own pace was brisk as he followed the dog that casually walked down the street sans a leash. It had the distinct red collar though just like in the poster as it wagged its tail happily to be out and about.
Astrid was pulled back almost as soon as she started running, stumbling a bit as she came to a stop. He had a point though, and the witch nodded in agreement as she shifted her shoulders to straighten her jacket. “Alright alright, play it cool. Got it.” He began to walk quickly, the dog trotting happily down the street in front of them, and Dom had to hop slightly to keep up with him. He was by no means tall, but Leon had almost a half a foot on her, and she had to walk fast to keep up.
“Okay what’s the plan?”
