People often do not understand why korean pop music is called kpop, just as much as they dont understand why american pop musicĀ isnt called apop or european pop music is called epop. In the ears of kpop fans, it all sounds very easy as it sounds wrong.
What makes Korean pop music so different from every other pop music? Its an easy answer if youāve already been through the clear signs as the language and the music videos.
Korean pop music is not only about the music, but also the lyrics, the high notes, the rap parts, the colors, the quality and of course the dance choreographies.
The dance makes the music videos different from all the thousands of music videos out there. Every step is taught to absolute perfection and every move flows like no other synchronization youāve seen.
Kpop artists train for years so that they can deliver and produce something thatās not already out there. When you ask a kpop artist what their specialty is, the answer will always be āa little bit of everythingā because they are taught in everything. Kpop artists can not only sing, but rap and dance. When every member of a band knows all these parts in music, they can give the world something bigger than expected.
Korean pop music is power, its dedication, its effort and strength, its unique and mind blowing, its perfection and synchronization, its love and desire, its color and patterns, its movement and language. Its different. Its Korean pop music. And you know what? Even if you removed the Korean language in the songs, and replaced it with English, it would still be kpop, because as everyone out there seems to believe, its not the language that has the main part in the music, itās the artists and their knowledge in music and what music is.
Thatās why its called kpop. And donāt try to tell me otherwise. Because you do not see the differences if you donāt listen and watch Korean pop music, and when you do so, you wont have anything else to say but to agree with me.
Oh, and lets not forget the outfits. [insert giggle here] The fashion is a lot different from america or europe.
