Friend 1 refused to see Longlegs because he had already watched a scene and didn't like Dale's voice. It made him cringe. He didn't even give it a chance. Booooring...
Friend 2 watched it. Didn't really like it. Felt it was too hyped up. I made the suggestion to watch again and it might "click." As for Dale, she was a bit confused. A bit nervous. He didn't look like she expected though. She thought he'd be hide-behind-your-hands scary monster type, due to the marketing style. So, to test the waters I casually said, "oh I had a crush on Dale for about a month. It was just a mad moment." And she was like, "ohhhh..." then silence. Then, "you're madly in love with Longlegs?" (I was thinking, damn I've said it now. There's no going back.) "No no, not in love with him. A mad moment." She was quite interested and genuine though. She wasn't making fun. I told her I'm not the only one who likes him. Her reply: "That's good! I need to take another look at this Longlegs..."
The conversation went onto something else, but returned to the subject with my friend saying, "LoNgLeGs" in a spooky whisper. I laughed and replied, "we'll talk more when you've watched it again."
When she text me later, she put: "I can't wait to hear more about your affair with Longlegs."
"I think the crush has faded now..."
"Whatever you say, Mrs. Longlegs."
I don't think I'll live this down, but who knows, she might develop her own crush on the next viewing!
