Aether’s Harem of “Boy-friends”
With the 1.1 update on the horizon, we take a look at the number of male companions who’s heart Aether has won over “so far” with his passionate, modest, and mildly playful nature.
Venti - Technically the first young man Aether meets on his journey as he searches for his sister. Mischievous, naive, and quite bold in his speech, Venti is a traveling bard who is secretly also Barbatos, the Anemo God, that resides over Mondstadt. After a series of unfortunate events brings the two to work together, the friendly and energetic Venti becomes emotionally-attached to Aether and decides to travel with him, hiding his true feelings behind a enigmatic smile. Oftentimes he has disputes with Paimon.
Kaeya - The poster boy for Mr. Fanservice. Dark, tall, and handsome; Kaeya is the smooth, witty and charming Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius. After immediately gaining an interest in the Traveler upon their first encounter, he makes it his life mission to seduce Aether and welcomes any and all romantic competition. He’s not above using his appearance to his advantage.
Diluc - The young, wealthy owner of the Dawn Winery and the Angel's Share tavern, Diluc is a successful enterpreneur and the third guy Aether becomes acquainted with in Mondstadt. Despite his resentment with the Knights, he doesn’t let that affect how he initially interactions with the young boy and displays a deep fondness and protectiveness towards him.
Childe - The first person that Aether meets in Liyue, he assists him in escaping the guards following the death of the Geo Archon. Despite being a member of the Fatui, he makes it clear that he doesn’t want to cause the Traveler any trouble and even admits that he’s “kind of a bad guy”. However, he still shows a cheerful and friendly demeanor while helping Aether navigate through Liyue and offering him large sum of Mora on numerous occasions if it’ll get him in his good graces. Even after using him for gathering information, Childe shows genuine remorse having doing so, and hopes that he doesn’t hold it against him.
Zhongli - A mysterious, calm and polite businessman with a great respect for Liyue’s history and looks that would make anyone bat an eye, and a voice as smooth as paper. Upon meeting him, Aether becomes enamored and mesmerized by the young man’s colorful sunset appearance and his aloof personality, Paimon points out often how it seems like Aether, despite being the younger person, enables the older gentlemen when he decides to pay instead for nearly anything Zhongli agrees to.
Xingqiu - While on a quest searching for a guidebook to Liyue, Aether meets the regal bookworm, Xingqiu, and gets caught in several misadventures as he searches for it. After growing accustomed to one another, Xingqiu decided to join the blonde boy and his associates on their travels, always referring to Aether as “his liege”. Having grown up as a second heir Feiyun Commerce Guild, Xingqiu is relieved to be able to be his true self around his new friend Aether.
Chongyun - The heir to a clan of exorcists, and a close friend of Xingqiu’s, Chongyun is a dedicated practitioner in the art of exorcism. Due to his “congenital positivity”, he avoids getting too fired up and passionate because of his abundant positive energy. With the help of Aether, he hopes to be rid of the affiliations of constant overheated mood-swings. He tries to control his emotions around the Traveler as in hopes he doesn’t switch by accident when happy to see him.
Razor - The boy Aether befriends while in Wolfendom. Raised by wolves, Razor has had little interactions with humans and thus, is not very versed in the common language. However, despite this, he tries his best to interact with his new human companions and likes to try cooking human food. While struggling with his new feelings for the Traveler, he tries to express them through his actions. Due to his nature, Aether finds these honest traits very endearing and adorable.
Bennett - Despite all the rumors he hear about Bennett and his bad luck, Aether decides to still join up with the fiery adventurer and finds his endless passion to be like a breath of fresh air as opposed to the sometimes unhelpful remarks from Paimon. Aether is very protective of his good-natured pal and hopes to prove others wrong about Bennett and his infamous luck. Bennett is oftentimes excited when mentioning his dads and looks forward to introducing the honorary knight traveler to them.
Xiao - A guardian spirit that while is set on protecting the people of Liyue, is very distant of humans. However, overtime he starts to soften upon meeting Aether and is even said to be a much nicer mood around him than anyone else in a long time.
