Blood and Death
Oh wondrous tune, the sound of screaming, echoing in my ears. Time for killing. A trail in blood, seeping in my boots makes me feel alive Taking what cannot be given back, A river of blood 12 miles wide I sing this song, a song of horror and now that the river is dry I must wet it again.
Seven Shadows
In the darkest of darks Seven shadows sneak in the dark Small but deadly, small but feared Turning chaos in on its self Dividing alliances and families alike Seven shadows in the dark abyss, knowing secrets none should know
Rain Drop
Gathering myself for the fall, the very long fall. I will hold myself together through the fall Glistening all the way, with my many brother and sisters Ready to die on the ground Only to be brought back to do it all over again
The Manslayer
Eyes so cold, and lonesome The eyes of a manslayer Not of ones who killed few but those who killed thousands Hands stained with blood yet again Another sin placed on the already burdened shoulders He willingly accepts this, using his darkness to rid the world of evil He will fight with his life Accepting his tormented afterlife The one, the manslayer, the one seeking redemption
Felling Pain
In darkness so deep. Fountains spray blood. Souls writhe in agony. Everything hopeless, everything in despair. The darkness consumes. It consumes living and dead. The darkness consumes the soul. Yet, there is light. There is hope. there is one who's soul shines bright. A man untouched by the pain and loss. He leads the hopeless. He walks unwavering in the face of death. With a soul so pure yet not full. He walks leading them on. Yet he has no purpose. He wonders with shame of knowledge. He wishes to wander with the joy of passion. He goes on unending. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A blow fells him. The followers cry out in ear. He rises, but with a femininely hand holding his tight. He rises again. Hand in hand with this woman of shining hope. The embodiment of his love and passion. They walk hand in hand. Through the despairing darkness. They lead the hopeless. Together for eternity.
Rose
Lovely, yet brings pain to the touch. Beautiful and hypnotic it be. This is a Rose. The ultimate of beauty. Just standing there, unwilting, outshining those around. Yearning to pick it up. Yearning to caress it in his hands. He dares not, lest hurt himself. Yet, he does, just to hold it close. He bleeds out uncaring. Nothing matter to him but the beauty of that single rose. The rose takes his life blood, growing with each drop. Finally, the rose closes his hands. With hands of an angel. He no longer bleeds. The rose no longer fears as they embrace. The embrace would never be broken.
Love Unknown
Both unknown to the other. Yet, knowing each other completely and utterly. There is one definition for this phenomenon. The word is Love. Seen the other once. But that instance set their hearts ablaze. The boy, wishing nothing more than to caress and cherish his love. The girl, wanting nothing more than to be in his arms and share the heartbeat. Each willing to sacrifice it all. For that moment. That one instant. Where nothing matters but their love for the other. That moment when all melts away, and nothing is left save those two. They will smile and express their Love.
Lights
They dance in my head. Twinkling and sparkling. Setting my mind into a gleeful haze. I wander lost through the lights. Keeping my mind distracted, they lead me through traps. Yet I come out unscathed, unharmed. This I know not why. All I know, and all I want to know, are the lights. I now have wandered for days, blissfully ignorant. I no longer know who I am, what I am, or where I am. All that O need is the beauty of the lights. I am content within their shine. For ages I have been content within the lights. But now...now something is different. I grow restless. More agitated. Now I seek something other than the light. The light discovers this. The light grows angry. The light is no longer peaceful bliss. It now is pain filled with hatred. I cower in fear. I cower in pain. No where to run. No where to hide. MY skin erupts in pain and blisters. It peels away, still alive, writhing in agony. I scream. I hear nothing, but feel more pain. My ears. My ears are gone. What was there was melded shut by steel. My mouth. My mouth sewn shut. I feel no tongue, no teeth. Nothing. I quiver in pain, rooted to the spot. But, in one last defiance, I claw my eyes out. Nothing. I feel nothing, hear nothing. But still, I see the light. Even with eyes torn out, it still taunts me. I live on, for eternity. Enduring the light. Enduring the pain and suffering. So that others will not. This, this is my penance.
Sorrow
I wander through the field. Blissfully I walk. Gliding across the field. I stop. I stop before this rose like flower. It mystifies me. It is neither white nor red. But a neon blue color. I reach my fingers out to touch the flower of blue. The moment my fingers grace the blue rose it explodes. It explodes into thousands of tiny crimson butterflies. I bring my back my hand wearily, holding nothing. I hold this nothing to my heart. Like so many times before. Crimson butterflies swirl about me, from millions of past flowers. I stand there, alone within the crimson wave. I fade. I fade from the thoughts of those around. Save for me One remembers who I am. What I have done. What I have experienced. What makes me....me. She waits there, alone. Alone in the dark. She realizes not that my hand will not come. It will not come without her guidance. I watch her as I fade away. Not knowing what she really is. Not knowing that as I fade away, I leave something unknown to me behind. Love.
Untitled
Two people embrace. Their hearts beating as one. Each other content in the arms of their love. Their love pure. Purer than the light cast from the moon. His love for her burning brighter than any stars not yet fallen. Her love for him. Burning bright but not yet blossomed. Holding each other for all time. Wishing to be closer. But yet, so far away.
Untitled
"I am me, I am you. I am one, I am all." Throughout my life I have experience the nightmares of those with the darkest minds. Not once have I ever experienced the dreams of the brightest minds. Journeys, many long and few short, have come and gone. Each leaving their distinct mark upon this eternal thing we call a soul. They are, and forever will be, with me. Many have offered their own soul in exchange for mine, to experience the wisdom I have accumulated; but, since the first one, they have been denied. This soul is what I shaped it to be, it is the one thing I can call mine, and truly believe this is so. Not once have I regretted keeping this soul. Without it, I am no longer the being I spent my life shaping, and this, I cannot allow. For if I was no longer myself, than who would I be? The lone man that stalks children in the night, a loving father and husband, a disrespectful punk, a refined gentlemen, or just an average, run of the mill person. No one can say, and truthfully, I do not wish to find out.
I am God. The so called divine being. He who is pure, he who is the origin of existence. I have more claim on this titled than "God" does. Experience has taught me the truth, the reason to why we exist. It was rather simple, and once discovered, would make you feel the greatest of all fools. The truth being that there is no exact truth, yet there actually is a set truth. We are all here to discover our own separate meanings of existence. This is where the "no exact truth" comes into play. With all of humanity being mentally, and spiritually, different it was impossible for than one meaning of existence to apply to two people. Each and everyone of us has a different, complex, meaning of why we are here; which is yet to be discovered. To find this discovery is no easy feat, and once you find it, you can tell no others. When it is found it means that you have lived your life. From the day of birth, to the day of death, is the journey of finding this truth. No shortcuts, detours, or anything of that kind exist in this journey. It is one that you must experience all the way through, until death has grasped your life. This fact is an inevitable fact.
Asylum: Dawn of Insanity
DAY Four
Well, now it is day four, and I am really wishing that I could get out of here. I hate being cooped up in this place, even though I am allowed to wander any where, I hate it! Like I said before, I am not insane, I am completely sane. Though, a couple days ago with those slight mental confusions was a little bit down that road, but just by a very tiny margin. Now yesterday, if any else who did not know me were to see that, would assume I'm insane and lock me up here. I was not acting like this until I arrived here, so, by my well thought out assumptions, this place is slowly making me go mad. I need to get out of here. If I don't...I don't want to know what will happen to me. I could go so far down this road that there is absolutely no hope of recovery. I know that it won't be easy, but I know I have to do it. Wait, I'm normal, mostly, in here, but out in the world I could mentally crash like before. That could, possibly, happen again. Before I just up and leave I should find out if that theory is true, because if it is, there will be no escape. The very first thing I need to do to accomplish this is to calm down. If I'm all flustered. and what not, I won't think correctly and mistakes will happen on after another. Maybe I will calm down at breakfast, and if that doesn't work, I'll just go about the grounds to keep my mind busy and off of this subject. Yeah, that should work, that way I'll be calm for when I actually plan this. Write again later.
Okay, today was normal for once. Which surprised me actually. I was thinking that some point in this day I was going to have an "episode" again, but I did not. I did my usual routine after I finish breakfast. First I walked around the grounds a couple times, for some exercise. After that I shot some hoops with the only friendly inmate in the Asylum. No one knows his real name so he just goes by Limp; which he has because when he was a kid he was on the bad end of a bike crash, and it permanently messed his leg up. He's a kind old guy. In his thirties, bright-eyed, and always wore a smile. I'm going to miss him if what the gnome said was true. OH RIGHT! Before I forget. On one of my walks today I happened upon this small stone statue of a gnome. I was just about to pick it up when it turned into a real gnome and started talking. He told me that this old guy, Limp, was going to be swarmed with spiders tonight, at midnight. Instead of biting his skin and infecting him the spiders would crawl under his skin and bite his organs, a much more painful way to die. I was absolutely horrified about what he just said, and when I was about to ask what I could do to prevent it he just vanished. I really hope Limp is going to be alright. He's to nice of a guy to die tonight.
Anyway, after the hoop shooting game with Limp I went to the common room and sat down in the recliner. A movie that I absolutely loved was playing, Garfield! I was content while watching that movie because it helped me forget about what the gnome said earlier. During the movie I had to apologize to some inmates though because I would sometimes ruin a part of it, or I would laugh so loud they couldn't hear what was going on. I felt bad so I shut up for the rest of the movie. It was quite enjoyable, and normal. The screen didn't go fuzzy or anything, and when I finished the movie and started reading a book the words weren't all jumbled and hazy; plus time didn't seem to be drastically slowed down again. I was so happy because of this that when it hit Bed Time I practically skipped down to my room.
Once I reached my room I knew what the gnome said was a lie. Limp wasn't going to die tonight, because in my room a there was a blue and green butterfly in my window sill. I savored it's voice when it told me that Limp was going to be alright, and the gnome was just playing a joker on me because it felt velvety smooth to my ears. I'm in such a good mood right now! Limp is going to live to see another day and nothing out of the ordinary happened today! I just wish I wasn't drained from that game of tag I played with the talking dust bunnies. So, out of caution, and out of exhaustion I'm going to go to bed, and before that knock on wood so I don't ruin anything good that might be coming. Have a wonderful night!
Asylum: Dawn of Insanity
DAY 3
Well, at least last night I got a good night's sleep. That felt really good, especially with all the weird stuff that happened yesterday. I'm assuming that it was just the shock of being placed in an Asylum finally, and fully, set in. Anyway, that was yesterday, and today is today. No lingering in the past. Now, let me begin with today's events. When I woke up everything looked a bit funny. My room, which is usually light blue walls, and ceiling, with white tile floor, and a single bed against the wall, looked hazy. It was as if I was looking through glasses filled with smoke. Then I blinked, and everything was normal again. To be honest i was a bit confused, but the confusion quickly slipped from my mind. Before I could even understand what just happened my door flung open and Josh walked in. Josh is an averaged sized Mexican with curly, black hair. He didn't say anything, just throw some clothes onto my bed. Just before he left he finally told me to get dressed and head into the common room.
It didn't take long to change out of my white t-shirt and pants into the other clothes; which were a pair of khakis, t-shirt, and gray jacket. Before I left the room I folded my clothes all neatly at the end of the bed. When that was done I did what Josh said and went to the common room. The green hallways were rather quiet, and empty. Usually there is at least three or four people in them at a time. I started to think this over in my mind, but like before with the confusion, it slipped away before I could grasp it. That really frustrated me, but before I could try to figure that out I entered the common room. Waiting for me was a handful of inmates dressed in street clothes much like myself, and a few of those "security" people hanging about. Dr. Codwhell was there too, along with the nurse Miss Malky. I believe Miss Malky read my troubled face and asnwered the question that was on my mind. She said that all of the inmates, well she said people, gathered here were going to go visit the museum to get some fresh air and a change of scenery. I thought that was reasonable, so when a couple of the security people, really big and buff white guys, ushered us out of the building and onto a bus I didn't complain, or anything else,I just went quietly along.
The bus trip wasn't very long because apparently, and I did not know this before, the museum was only a couple blocks away. The building was this massive thing, all intricately carved on the outside, a couple lion statues by the stairs; and when we reached the entrance I saw an oak tree carved into the wall on the left side of the door. Sadly I didn't enjoy much of the field trip. Now, I'm just going to write for future reference that what I am about to write is what everyone else told me happened after I blacked out, and now that I am perfectly fine. After the whole incident I was examined by Dr. Codwhell and he said I was fine, just a mild seizure, or something like that. Anyway, the incident, the group wasn't that far into the museum before my eyes started playing tricks on me again. The floor, which was checkered black and white, like a chess board or checker board, started spinning around me. It was slow at first, barely noticeable. but after a short while it gradually increased it's speed. Before I blacked out I remember it going so fast that all the colors were a blur to me, and it appeared as if an arm was reaching out to try and touch me. It succeeded in that attempt, and that is when I blacked out I guess.
The following is what I could piece together from what everyone told me. Apparently I started screaming, and this scream was the kind that chilled the blood. After that I started thrashing around, punching my arms out at some unseen object. It was then that Dr. Codwhell ordered two of the security people to subdue me, which apparently was no easy feet. Miss Malky told me it was as if I was superman for a second. I had lifted both men, with one arm each, by the throat into the air. If it wasn't for a third security person tackling me I would have choked the life out of the other two, which scares me to no end that I was doing that. That's when they finally subdued me and strapped me down to the retainer chair at the back of the bus. When we returned to the Asylum I had regained consciousness. Shortly after that is when Dr. Codwhell did his tests on me to see if I was okay, and injected me with my medicine again. By the time the tests were down it was well after 10, so I went back to my room to update my journal, and now that it is updated I will be getting sleep. Night.
Asylum: Dawn of Insanity
DAY 2
Yesterday was rather odd. The old man, which I found out to be Dr. Codwhell, took me to a room a few levels below mine. A large metal table was set in the middle of the room with a generous amount of leather straps on it. The only other furnishing in the room was a leather chair in the corner, this had straps too. Other than those two things the room was pretty much bare. Dr. Codwhell politely asked me to go take a seat, which I did, but I was becoming clammy from nervousness. He told me to relax, nothing bad was going to happen. For some reason i didn't believe him, but I sat down anyway. The leather was cold as ice. once I sat down Dr. Codwhell disappeared behind a door I missed before. When he came back he was carrying a briefcase.
I was about to question him, but before I could voice anything he took out two syringes. one was empty while the other was filled with a silverish liquid. I asked him what he was going to do, and he calmly told me that he was just going to take a blood sample then inject me with my medicine. When he told me this I finally relaxed, feeling safe at last. Dr Codwhell gave the filled syringe to one of the large men and walked over to me with the empty syringe; the larger man following close behind with the filled one. When he reached me he asked if I could put both arms in the leather straps.I did without hesitation, and they strapped my arms down. Shortly after they strapped my biceps down, tightly, so that the veins would bulge. While Dr. Codwhell was doing this I mentally checked out. I was only aware of the prick feeling from the first syringe entering me, then another prick of the second syringe. Following that feeling was a dull, warming sensation. I assumed that was just the liquid being injected into me. After all of this I was dismissed back to my room, and was escorted there, so i could get some rest, which I did.
The next day, or today rather, was pretty uneventful. I did exactly what I did yesterday. I went about the grounds, trying to make some friends, but was usually turned away with the cold shoulder. Eventually after that I wound up back in the common room and watched the T.V.. Though this is where things became different, I think. The screen was all distorted and muddy at times, then so sharp that it hurt to watch it. After a short while I picked up a nearby book, which didn't help much at all. The words appeared to be alive, slightly moving in across the page. Not noticeable at first, only if you stared out of the corner of your eyes. After only a few minutes I gave up trying to read, mainly due to the fact that I was becoming nauseated from it. I finally just settled form looking around the common room. Time seemed to slow while I was doing this. Any movement at all seemed to take minutes to do. For example, Jackson, an African American with schizophrenia was reading a book; and when ever he turned a page it was minutes before that page was fully turned. It didn't take me long to stop looking around to peek at the clock, hoping it was time to go, but I knew it wasn't going to be. To my surprise it was. The clock said 10:00, and that is bed time. When I turned back to the common room it was empty. I was a bit shocked as I walked to my room. A lot of strange things occurred today, I'm hoping it wasn't any type of side effects to the medicine I was given.
Well, when I got back to my room it felt like I just ran twenty miles. Writing all this is taking extreme effort, so, I hope I covered everything that happened today; because I can't keep going. I'm about to fall asleep on the spot. Ugh, can barely keep consciousness. Going to bed.
Asylum: Dawn of Insanity
DAY 1
Well, day one is at it's closing and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, despite being warned multiple times that hell would be a better place to live. Disregarding their warnings I kept thinking I didn't belong here. This is an Insane Asylum, and honestly I'm quite sane. Yet, here I am, deep under ground in the area reserved for those mentally disturbed that there was no hope for being released. This confuses me, though I can't really complain, I am allowed to roam around the entire vicinity. Plus, the meals are not to bad, better than what I would get usually at work, which is kind of sad when I think about it. Anyway, I don't understand why they would room me in this area and then allow me to go anywhere I wanted to, doesn't make any sense. When I asked a nurse she calmly told me that this is why I am there. That I cannot understand the real world so I make up my own version, and believe I am living in that one. Before I could give a reply to her she gave me a pat on the shoulder and walked the other way. That short little conversation gave me quite a deal to think about, but I eventually gave up on it and decided to meet other people.
I was a bit disappointed that when I tried to become friends with the others they just gave me the cold shoulder, or reacted violently; which eventually involved staff members to break it up. Other than those few incidents it was all the same, cold shoulder after cold shoulder. Eventually I just gave up on the whole idea and settled with watching T.V. the rest of the day; because it was raining outside. After a couple hours a dull beeping noise sounded off. The rest of the ward got up and started heading into the halls, not knowing what to do I asked a nearby staff member. The male staff member, with short blonde hair, told me it was the Room Signal. I asked him what that meant and it meant that it was time for everyone to return to their rooms because there were some, for lack of a better word he said, inmates that needed special medication, and were rather violent; so they wanted everyone else out of harms way. After I thanked him for the helpful info I went back to my room. Seeing as how I was the only one that had to go this way I began to softly sing an old song I've forgotten the name to, oh well.
When I reached my room there was already a group of the staff in front of the door a couple rooms down from mine. Before they even looked at me I headed straight into my room. The moment I sat down was the same moment I heard muffled screaming. I couldn't make out all of it clearly but what I did make out was "no stop"..."please no more"..."just kill me". I ignore all of that, figuring it was those extreme mentally disturbed inmates wanting to be left alone in their dream world, or what ever it is that is wrong with them. The screaming eventually died away and I was left alone in silence, which was interrupted every now and then by some coughing. Some time later the sound of foot steps, a group of them to be exact, came back. They stopped in front of my door, at this time I began to worry that I was in some sort of trouble, but at the sound of a door opening I knew I wasn't because it wasn't my door that was being opened, it was the one across from it. This time I didn't here any screaming as the foot steps walked away again. Maybe the person was sleeping.
Nothing happened for a while after that, to me it seemed like the medication was done, and at this time I had caught up in time with myself. The writing from here on out, until tomorrow's, will be what happens exactly when it happens. Well, I suppose I should stop writing for the night and get some sleep. Wait, I hear the foot steps again, I guess that inmate took longer than normal, oh well. The foot steps stopped in front of my door again, and this time it was my door that was opened. Four large men walked in accompanied by a small man in glasses. He politely asked me to stop writing and come with him. I politely obliged, so, I will continue tomorrow night.
