This blog is also incredibly disorganized despite my best efforts, I simply hadn’t gotten used to this platform and it was only done as a last resort for archival purposes back when the TikTok ban was a genuine concern.

So how egotisical is Glisten? Like, is it to the point that it's unbearable or does he at least have some humbleness?(Or in other words, Rival, villain, or Antivillan?)

In Red Rock, Glisten incredibly egotistical in an condescending rival way. Luckily, he won’t be bad enough of a person to be a outright villain.

You’ll see later in the series, but we definitely DO have a full anti-villain and a anti-hero.

Is vee fully robotic, or is it more of a 'Flesh in the machine' thing? She seems a bit advanced for the era, and i feel like that would explain the sentience and all.

Nope, RedRock!Vee is fully robotic! She has no trace of human DNA in her making. However, that’s not to say she hasn’t come a LONG way in terms of her programming. She was much less advanced when she was first made haha. Hope this crude little sketch gives the idea

The first batch of toons made were Dandy, Teagan, Vee, and Rodger. But at the time she was less of a toon and more of a virtual assistant stuck to a computer, referred to as VAVI (or “VA.V1”) No real “body” to speak of.

By the time she reprogrammed herself enough to be able to communicate, she had to BEG to be given a body and Delilah complied.

As the others grew though, Vee still had to beg for a larger body, but after some point she stopped trying.

That said, without Delilah’s limitations, she was able to build a better form than Delilah ever could!

That’s not to say she wasn’t… sloppy in her first attempts. If you saw the video of her and dandy in 1990, you might notice her clothing choice is a bit more “modest” than it is 2003.

Do the toons legally have human rights because they have human dna (shoutout to connie), or can i punch Dandy with little consequences. Are they classified as animals? Can i legally adopt Shelly. How the fuck has dandy not wilted yet. He's a flower. Does he just not do that shit. is he watered daily. Does he sleep in fucking soil. do they feed him dirt, does his drink suck because his tastebuds are fried from the dirt and worms and thats the best thing he'd ever tasted. can i put him in my FUCKING GARDEN?

Wonderful questions all around, so technically they do..? But they wouldn’t exactly be citizens since there wasn’t an actual birth or certificate involved, so they’re more like undocumented people. So you can punch him to my knowledge.

I suppose they don’t count as animals since they have a conscious, and Shelly is about 25 but hey don’t let that stop you from adopting her 👍👍

Lastly these toons don’t exactly rot or wilt. Their outside is still skin. It just formed to appear like whatever Delilah added into the mix when making them.

For example, just think of Shelly as having hardened skin on her head, and more human-like skin on the body.

So Dandy’s drink sucks because it’s [REDACTED] but you can still put him in your garden if you bury him alive 🥰 Hope this helps 👍

is rodger and toodles sitation special or did any of the other toons have family dynamics?

In the AU, Rodger was specifically assigned to take care of toodles, because when she was first being developed, there was a shortage of handler’s on staff, and he was already 22 at the time. However they aren’t truly related.

There are some other non-related toons that have similar familial-ish dynamics such as Dandy and Vee having a sort of sibling type dynamic

Although it gets muddy considering Vee viewed the founders as parents, while Dandy viewed them as gods.

Other than that though, outside of the canonly related toons in Dandy’s World, in the Red Rock AU no other familial ties are present.

Genuine question, why does finn look like an old man compared to the others? Was he created earlier? Or was it just a design choice? How would a fishbowl grow hair anyway..

Also! In earlier versions I gave him the seaman’s beard, full on hair to really give off that Sailor/Fisherman vibe.

It was made of mostly seafoam, but 1- I didn’t like the look, felt too much like Santa, and 2- I thought I was pushing the limit on what seafoam could do.

So! I decided to cut back a lil and just leave it with a stache, and chin and arm hair are now just stylized scratches on the glass.

As for the theory about him being older, let me check my notes on everyone. Everyone was mostly made in batches, give it take a few months with each other.

I know this question is really stupid but, did the mains see their handlers as parents or did they miss them at all when they left/got fired?

And who's in charge now that deliah and arthur are gone, who's in charge of the whole operation?

Hey, no this is an excellent question!!

The toons view the handlers as babysitters, and they view Delilah and Arthur as parents or gods depending on who you ask.

Some toons miss the handlers a bit, but like any babysitter, you eventually learn to say goodbye to them.

After Delilah and Arthur left, it went up for debate. Eventually though, Vee took over Gardenview under their name. They didn’t officially step down, they just abandoned the park entirely.

Trust me, there's a reason. Well, it's a simple reason, they're both bassists obsessed with some kind of reptile with warm color scheme as well as issues relating to being seen as irrelevant by their peers.

Anyways here's a list of the things that made me sob while making this

The sleeve on Shelly's right arm. It's so annoying to draw from that angle. Dear lord.

Shelly's eyes - They're so big and far apart I am NOT used to it.

Tarvo's mouth was weirdly annoying to figure out?? It took me a bit to even settle on her facial expression.

Tarvo's boots. I've never drawn shoes from this back angle, so I kinda just had to guess.

Actually yeah that's it only those four things. damn.

🐚 Shelly: It’s pretty spooky! I like the sound of the guy and the piano together, especially when he hits those higher notes!! I’m not too sure what he’s singing about… but I’m sure it’s something deep! I think?

🔍 Rodger: Definitely a gorgeous melody. There’s no doubting that. I’m a rather large fan of orchestral compositions and this song caters to my preferences fairly well. I enjoyed the ending in particular. That feeling of hopelessness, of a bleak end, is something I believe should be embraced.
